Fellow guppies and guppans,
Sometimes you compliment a khatooon, you can see her practically melting in front of you, and then there are times when you compliment a khatoon, you know it’s time to leave town (squint, glare, and then they reach for a sharp object). So, my question for all you lads and lasses is this: How to compliment a khatoon? Which compliments are the safest and yield modest dividends? Which compliments are high risk but yield…well…you get the picture.

I'm such a sucker, I usually fall for lame lines and compliments, should have learnt from my best friend who can always tell the difference between flattery and sincerity.
How does a girl tell the difference?

I don't know...I guess its because she knows shes hot and that guys just want some action at the end of the day. If he sticks around for a long period, then you know he's sincere.

Pick out something on them that is individual (brooch, color their wearing, shoes, embroidery) and comment on it, but be sincere. My daughter does it all the time, she's an expert and she taught me :) She charms little old ladies off the bench, but usually she uses this to break the ice with other girls around her age.
**Errr- adding this, not sure what a khatoon is, so making a guess - like a pretty girl or a woman - not sure and can't call hubby, he's in meeting. But it had to do with compliments so there it is**

Complimenting a girl on her shoes could be misconstrued for being interested in them. :D

But if I were to compliment a girl on her shoes or clothing, it could be (mis)construed as an interest in her wardrobe, don't you think?

Not really, but as an icebreaker, that is fine. If you want to start a conversation, it is an easy way.
Does it matter if you aren't really all that interested in the shoes?
But the best way is to find something you genuinely like, it sounds more sincere.

Say nothing.
Desi women are the worst at taking compliments ..they will either go blank, think a million things or just giggle. The only girl whom I think was exceptionally good at taking compliments was sweetpie. Her attitude was like "yeah, i know I'm beautiful..thank you..very nice of you" :-D

I find complimenting eyes and hair to be too typical. The one compliment I liked the most is on my skin … how clear and nice it is … and I get that from women too. 
Oh, and another one is on my voice. If she has a nice voice, tell her … and tell her what makes it nice.

and yeap.. i agree with mehnaz.. skin!! i always get how clean and glowing my skin is and always get asked what soap, moisturiser i use..

say it when it comes naturally to u and u mean it coz women have this SIXTH SENSE and they know WHEN the other person means it :p

I usually get compliments on my eyes or my smile and i always say a polite thank you.....Fayz you need to meet more desi girls, dude! I have never given anyone a glare when they give me a compliment.
