I want to use this opportunity to call all contributors to praise and explore reasons to be proud of Pakistan … I want to see how we can build on what we have - but we need to have a good idea of what we have … so get thinking …
I like the culture and food and the fact that we have preserved our history where we can …
Re: What can be said about Pakistan today … to indicate its greatness?
I think greatness of Pakistan lies in the fact that inspite of all difficulties we faced (be it scarcity of resources, unfriendly neighbors who prophesied that the nation will not live longer for more than a couple of years, etc), we stood against all the odd times. No doubt we suffered, lost half of our country (that is another independent country BTW), but still we survived and there is still a hope and positivity to survive for longer and longer InshaAllah.

Ok this one I really do mean: our dramas.
We do them well, in fact better than others. Unlike Amreekan and Indian dramas, we don’t get so attached to ours that we let them drag on with episodes in the 100s, at least now we don’t. Nor are we attached to our characters to the point that we can’t kill them off and need to have them come back from a freak accident where the car tumbles of the cliff and the hero is pronounced dead but returns to society with a totally different reconstructed face in episode 350. I like how we generally portray emotions with a subtlety that carries more depth.
Language. We have many. But the national language, Urdu, is graceful. It has a nice cadence.

16 posts and no mention of our nukes. The people who built them were smart, they did what needed to be done. Pakistan doesn’t have to worry about India bullying us no more. Those nukes are the reason our neighbor to the East is considering peace as an option.
That said. We have them now, we survived. Now we need to use our brains to fix other problems facing Pakistan. We know we can do it, we have the smarts. It’s just that we don’t want to fix those problems as bad as we wanted the nukes. That has to change, or else Pakistan is doomed.

it’s name: Islamic Republic of Pakistan where Islam is nowhere to be found in the areas of wealth distribution, justice system and law N order situations.
