Re: What are

that's true, these lucknawi kebab ppl hold on to their recipes like leeches. but when u travel, u never know who you will meet and what you'll learn! plus when ppl see my big camera dangling around my neck they think i'm a reporter or somet, so maybe i'll try playing that card :D

Re: What are

who said anything about eating the kebabs? :hoonh:

Re: What are

I finally made them today following aliyish’s recipe as I didn’t have the bottled qorma masala that nimko suggested. Plus qorma masala is essentially a mix of grama masalas anyway. I bhoonofied the whole mixture in the pan instead of making patties out of them and they were yum! We had invited some friends for a brunch and everyone loved them :hula:

Thanks for the recipe guys.

Re: What are

ok THANK YOU ALIYISH. The check is on its way… a reality check.

Re: What are

femmsy, i had some yummy gelwati kebabs in lucknow. and omg the biryani was to die for. and the nihari was soooo yumm. the guy told me to come back the next day after jummah and he’d give me the nihari recipe.. lekin i got there late and he was gone :frowning:

anyways, funny thing is.. i read up on the famous food joints in lucknow, and i went there thinking they’d be small restos.. to my shock they were nothing more than stalls lining the streets. most were really dirty… lekin i braved it and tried some food at a coupla places. and with my big camera, they thought i was a reporter or somet and since i just wanted to sample the food anyway, they made me a big plate with small bits of everything and they were happy to talk to me about lucknow and the food. i did ask about the spices but they were careful to say that it’s your usual spices, “bass haath ka farq hai” :hoonh:

but it was a fun trip nevertheless. the taj hotel has a resto called Oudhiana dedicated to Awadh cuisine, but my guide was like, it won’t be the real stuff… u have to eat on the streets if u wanna try the real food. LOL. anyways, eating on the street was definitely more fun.. i would have been eating alone at the 5 star resto, and i didn’t fancy that idea much.

Re: What are

why r these lucknowis so kharoos yaar. recipe hee tau hei.

eating at hotels can be done anywhere, its the street food experience thats one of a kind, good choice I say :k:
