What are you

Grateful for today?

We go through life not realizing how lucky we are to be here. The things we have, we earn but who makes the path for earning? Who allows the opportunity? Some work even harder than you and I but end up with results far less.

We are people who commit sins day and night, knowingly and unknowingly. Yet Allah swt gives us more and more everyday. Makes me feel a tad embarassed and happy that he is watching over me.

Im grateful Ive a roof over my head I can call home today. I had a rough week and God knows all I want is my pillow and blanky! :k337:

So, what are you grateful for today?

Re: What are you

That i can buy groceries. yeah we have to stretch our dollars a bit for now but we're still fortunate that we even have dollars to buy stuff.

I'm grateful for every little Allah has granted me with.
There were many things in life that I wanted to do/accomplish but I couldn't due to some reasons. And so, I'm grateful for accepting that in life it's not possible for you to get everything you want. I'm grateful to Allah for giving me what He thought was better for me.

:naak:nothing. we are an ungrateful lot!

Re: What are you

Re: What are you

For my baji. She has been letting me stay with her for almost a year now… im supposed to be here helping her with the baby and yet im the one giving her more of a hard time

Re: What are you

for today..... I am thankful for being reunited with my long lost friend and her family.I havent spoken to her in almost 11 years because we lost contact with each other somehow. I have been talking to her for the past 3 days now and I am really looking forward to meeting with her soon. :D

Nice topic!

I have actually started a daily routine with my daughters on being thankful for at least one thing every day. I t was tough as I got some reluctant responses from my elder daughter (for whose benefit I had the idea in the first place) like "I am thankful for nothing" but within 10 days, her attitude changed. And now she has sometimes even 5-6 things she wants to say thank you for. In fact she actually tells me "Oh I cant wait to say thank you this evening". I can see how her negative outlook on life (typical of pre-teen) is now improving from a simple technique like this.

As for my lil daughter she comes up with sweet little things like "Thank you for the birds eating food" and she too cant wait for our thank you time.

Thing is I am having a tough time thinking things to be thankful for, but those few minutes force me to look for something good in our lives.

I think everone should visit this thread once a week and say something they are grateful for :)

Today I was thankful that I managed to finish all the extra work I had so I can have my rest on Sunday. And I am always thankful eternally for my two little angels. May God bless them always.

Re: What are you

Aww what a nice thread indeed. I am thankful for my laptop which many people don't have the luxury of buying. I am thankful for the food I eat everyday which many people do not have the money of buying. I am thankful for the shoes on my feet, for the water that I get in my bathroom, ...and the list could go on and on.

Alhamdullilah.

Re: What are you

I am so very thankful today for two things.

First and foremost, I am thankful to have my family. NO ONE will ever love you or care for you the way that family does. When it comes down to it, having a loving family can mean the difference between the homeless, hopeless person you see on the street and the well-dressed person who makes purchases in stores. I havent the need to worry about if God forbid, I come down with a fatal illness or if I should become incapacitated. I have FAMILY. I have no need to worry whether my boys will be well-cared for if something should happen to me and hubby. Again, I have FAMILY. I am truly blessed.

Second, I am blessed to be in control of my senses. My SIL is suffering from a rapidly progressing neurological disease and has lost her sense of who she is, who her family is, how to take care of herself, even to remember things that happened less than 5 minutes ago. She is blessed to have family that will ensure that she is cared for....but I am SO thankful to have the use of my brain. I cant IMAGINE going thru the things she is going thru.

Re: What are you

Aly-sam it makes a difference doesnt it? Im really actively trying to make efforts not to take things for granted anymore and look at all the things I DO have rather than only what I want.

Re: What are you

MO3, family is a blessing indeed. Having someone to rely on and care for you...its amazing!

May Allah swt grant your SIL health and happiness. Inshallah.
