"The kite Runner" written by Khaled Hosseini..(World-Bestseller)..there is also a movie..but the buk is much better than the movie ;)

^the book is better, but overhyped IMO. Still, a good read.

Reading 'Chronicles of Narnia' to my children and a Dutch translation of 'The physick book of Deliverance Dane' by Katherine Howe. (now that title is completely different in Dutch version, 'Het verloren boek van Salem' meaning the 'The lost book of Salem').

I’ve only discovered those books a few years ago when the first movie came out. In Holland most of my generation grew up with different books.
There are more books I only discovered thanks to movies, such as LOTR and The Neverending Story. When my children had the right age to understand the stories, I read these books to them as well. I still have to read the book behind the Golden Compass movie, also the book of the movie Precious and the book of the Kite Runner movie. These movies were very well done and I’d like to know more of the stories and compare them to the movies. I always have so many books I still have to or want to read, I wish I didn’t have to sleep or eat and drink and just continue reading. 
A wealth of books is still out there in the world which we’ll never be able to read because we either don’t know about those great stories or because one human just can’t read that much.

No not in a good way - in a very boring way. Believe it or not the TV show is much better.
Currently reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman.
I like it so far; its like an offbeat Harry Potter. Initially was turned off to it because it kept saying there was so much cussing in it- but I've read worse (Maps to Lost Lovers)....

^ Oh yes! A friend of mine was recommending that. I'm still making my way through the GoT books (on book 4) and then I have Dark Parties, which is written by a friend of a friend. Then I'll try The Magicians!
