I am reading “The Checklist Manifesto” by Atul Gawande.
Amazon.com: The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right (9780805091748): Atul Gawande: Books
Interesting read for all professionals.
I heard this book is a bestseller?! Probably.
on the last 30 pages of Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a dutch politician. Better to read someone before openly criticizing them.
My two cents:
She is an extremist liar. No different from Osama bin Laden. Just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Re: What are you reading?
'Burnt Shadows' by Kamila Shamsie. (only Shamsie could write a lovely story out of a horrible tragedy, I fell in love with her writing after reading 'Kartography', and this book is no less an achievement, she has become one of my favorite contemporary female authors, such sublime use of language, I could enjoy just reading her sentenses even if there wouldn't be a plot, how many contemporary authors can do that?)
'Eeman and its Components' compiled by Shawana A. Aziz. (a must read, very informative, both in terms of religion and history, writing style and design of the [e-book] is very readible)
Re: What are you reading?
Shanghai Girls by Lisa See.
There are some giving their reviews and thoughts about the books they are reading. It would be interesting if some more people do the same.
:)
How do you guys read books? Do you buy them, or read online, or from library?
My recommendation is that more people should read books on "how to prepare delicious food every day". (I guess I am saying this because I am feeling hungry.)
I like browsing this thread every now and tehn. I was in the market for a book for the longest time and I am quite selective about what I read.
Thanks to all the posters who mentioned Man-o-Salwa. I finished it in a few days adn loved it. My first novel in Urdu, though.
Now I am looking for another one. I hope someone can suggest me something else along the same themes of Man-o-Salwa. Oh and I also wish ending didn't happen the way it did.
read PEER-E-KAMIL(PBUH) by Umera Ahmed.

Re: What are you reading?
Recently I read The Doomsday Conspiracy and I abused myself for not reading this novel these many days. We all know that Sidney’s novels will have kind of suspense always. Though I am not addicted to novels this made me to stick to it until the completion of novel.
I am not that much aware of UFO’s and star wars before. To be frank I came to know about these UFO’s thru this novel only. Now I am pretty interested in UFO’s and even I am gathering all information about star wars. Hope he might have did a very big research before writing this novel and after reading this novel you can’t stop yourself appreciating him. It’s not a simple thing to just pen about these things without any deep research. The way he presented also very good.
The novel is all about how UFO’s came into our planet and what happened to the people who watched them and who find out all those people and the reason they killed them.
The way he presented how those viewers of UFO are found is excellent and the turning point in the novel is the person who found all those viewers of UFO getting targeted and the way he saves his life is really superb. Also some kind of love story masala is added in the novel to just make the readers not to feel monotony of the same UFO again n again.
This story is quite different when compared to his other novels like memories of midnight etc etc.Sometimes his novels will be of more romantic.I bet you this is not of that kind.I feel everyone remembers about KOI MIL GAYA movie of hrithik(provided the readers should have watched the movie earlier. :-))
Everything is fine and to make this novel pretty good he could have given more wonderful ending than a very simple one. At the end of novel the secrets mentioned by his about the people who died working in these research fields make us more interesting to know about UFO’s.
*And I request everyone to read this novel to know more about UFO’s and the interesting story related. *
