As far as i know, a wife should and must ask her husband before doing something that her husband is not aware of......and same goes for the husband, he should nd must ask for his wife permission before dong anything that she is not aware of! Vice Versa......
As i said before lets leave this here, when i will get married i will see right now just forget it.... and move on :)

Most desis I have seen want working wives for monetary purposes. I have seen people want a doctor wife only as the earning potentialof a doctor is high in the US.I have seen them asking their wives to delay starting a family because they want her to hurry up and finish studying or whatever and start working. To be fair nowadays a lot of women too want to work because they want to "up their status". Not that there is anything wrong in improving your sitaution but doing that to just gloast over other desis is just sick. So after seeing so much of this,Iwould rather see a husband who wouldn't mind either ways, working or not working!
^ Some families are very up front for this. Mostly the man is green card holder or citizen and 'boy' is not a physician himself.
There have been situations where she could not pass the steps and got red eyes from everyone and then even divorce!
On the other hand one woman I know who asked to be divorced from a man who could not pass the exam and after divorce he did pass the exam!!
