I did a spot of boxing- for about 3 years and now am in the process of pursuing Tae kwon do.
My goal was always to start a facility in India- where athletes from all over the country could come and train in one of several offered martial arts discipline. Now, though, I find tremendous potential all across south Asia- particularly in ground/grappling sports, owing to the kushti tradition.
The problem for me tho has always been capital. I have the idea, the entrepreneurship and the skills/willingness to make it happen. My focus has always been on one sport in particular- Penchang Silat, an Indonesian/Malay Archipelago art form, that is very difficult to teach and even rarer to come across:

But I’m still young, in University and have my whole career ahead of me. The idea was to return to India, (I’m currently in N America), network with people with the interest/will to promote martial art in South Asia and eventually start a fraternity that will transcend borders and work for the greater good of the art form and of the athlete.
