Nikah is actually getting married - signing the paper is primarily for legal purposes but otherwise Nikah happens verbally as well. The guy and the girl become husband and wife after Nikkah.

Wedding is more of a ceremony/ritual for girls to leave their parents house and start living with the husband so yes, that can be referred to as rukhsati.

Sometimes both Nikkah and Rukhsati is done on the same day.

thats bcoz aaj kal ki larkyian apni ammi se kuch seekhti hi nhi hain, kuch larkiyoo ko tou even daal tak pakani nhi aati …

Age when I married-19
Hubby's age when we married-24
By todays standards this is young but it didn't feel too young to me when I got married

I (bride) was engaged at 28 and got married at 29.

Engaged: Me 20, hubby 25
Nikkah :22, hubby 27
Rukhsati: Me 22, hubby 28 (6 months gap between nikkah and rukhsati)

And we have been married for 2 yrs mashAllah :)

My family doesn't believe in engagement... its always direct shaadi..

engaged : me 65 , hubby 69.
Nikah : me 68 , hubby 72.
Rukhsati : me 70 , hubby 74.

& now we are on our " burhaape ki dahlees" & will die soon
