What about women watching/reading porn?

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

I believe that’s called “woman logic”. :hehe:

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

that was the reasoning/explanation and garnered support for female genital mutilation in Africa. cant have unrestrained and sexually aware women walking around in our society.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Although like men, women wouldnt admit to watch porn. Yes some of our desi women do watch porn. Me and my wife like to watch soft porn once in a while. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

whats soft porn?

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Nothing serious... you get excited when your wife cooks food for you and its tastes so yummy....:D

lol I saw this coming. It’s funny to read such vehemently obnoxious comments that are single-handedly triggered by infinitesimal opinions of someone else. Quite enthusiastic, aren’t we?

Like I said earlier, come back with a genuine point of view, or simply refrain from quoting me. Knowing that this is how you classify wisdom, knowledge and perspective actually demonstrates just about your own.

Edit: Offense Intended.

But im not offended

Woman, my wisdom on the matter comes from experience, which you CLEARLY are lacking. Has someone caught you watching porn? Have you had a discussion in mixed company about watching porn?
How did you include all men in your grossly incorrect assumption?
Did ur hubby chuck a skitz when he caught you? Does your hubbys opinion reflect that of all men?

Infinitesimal opinions. LOL. Coming from who holds opinions like yours.

My reason for input here is your childish a assumption and immature attitude.

Learn a little about the world, not everyone is the same. I feel sorry for the men in your life.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Men are visual and this is one of the reasons why they watch porn more. Women watch it to they tend to not want to admit it.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

^I agree. Several studies have found that this is the reason men are more likely to watch porn, while women are more like to read porn in the form of trashy "novels."

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Unconditional access to adult content has readily impacted the general moral and social behavior. A decade ago it was a whole different perspective but now its out in open. Porn, homosexuality, oral, bla ! bla ! bla ! and many other branches sexual (so called creativity) leaves people curious george and curiosity make people do what they may don't wanna do in normal conditions . Regardless of sex, porn is widely watched and most new generation men are ok with it, if their partner watch it. Aaahhooo !!!

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

So, after criticizing her for sexism you generalized by using term ‘desis’ and criticizing them for being touchy. :smack:

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Difference is I am a desi too. She is bashing men while not being a man herself.

If I was a white or a black dude who had said that then you would have a point. And you should be happy, I am finally doing what you always didn’t like me not doing

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Then you should have said “desi women”, but then it would be generalizing too. Best: you would have stopped after the second sentence without mentioning ‘desis’ . I agreed with your first two lines.

Besides, I would have taken it the same way even if you were a Martian like me.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Thing is diwana, we do get touchy about porn or anything related to sex. Have you ever seen a public debate on TV or media about it anywhere in Pakistan or infact India or Bangladesh or Sri Lanka? In UK we had the government thinking about restricting porn and there were open debates in the media, in Pakistan it simply got banned. Can you ever imagine a news reporter or an editor openly in every newspaper debating the ''no's'' of banning porn? Maybe touchy was a wrong word, however taboo would be a correct one and even you know its true.

I have said it in this thread as well its upto each couple, if seeing porn makes them happier then good for them if not good for them. Noone should really judge anyone else for what they do in the confines of their own bedroom.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Men and women across the board do not necessarily approve porn in any form.

While men are stereotyped as less tolerant of their wives watching porn, it is most likely due to men are more vocal and get their opinions expressed without having to fear about the repercussion.

Many women even after knowing their men are in to porn stay quiet. Does not mean they are more tolerant, but maybe they are more fearful of the retaliation if they spoke against it to their men.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Yes, the word touchy in terms of desis was generalization.

Like I said above, even non-desis men and women not always approve or like their counter partners watching porn.

Taboo?

Yes.

There is a reason why even in free countries, movies containing nudity and sexual scenes come with some kind of rating and prior warning of viewer's discrimination is advised.

This taboo is ubiquitous and not necessarily limited to desis.

Now, the limit of what is allowed and what is not is variable.

We cannot for sure say ONLY desis are against porn even in the confinement of bedrooms. :)

Sorry, I have not read other posts in this thread yet.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

Fair enough for your last line, but we do need to NOT treat this whole subject as taboo. I am still confused why was porn even banned in Pakistan. Doesn't really make a lot of difference at all. In the West you do have warnings before nudity but noone is afraid to debate the issue, we can't say the same in Pakistan or any South Asian country for that matter.

What I am saying is people make too big a deal out of it. But that's my opinion, as everyone has different sensitivities I guess.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

I think each society has it own flavor and priorities.

While porn on national level might be banned or even its discussion in Pakistan, there are still a lot of ways people get access to it and unfortunately there is no regulation that can be imposed if people are willing to follow the rules.

But again, even in places where regulations and warnings are in place, there is no guarantee that underage individuals will not get access to it.

Even non-desis and especially outspoken women do make a big deal about it.

Just like desis, the non-desis, who may belong to a certain type of background (usually lower middle class/ghetto living) are the ones who watch porn avidly.

Educated and higher middle class still do not approve porn and consider it disgusting and tacky.

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

i think porn is banned in pakistan on a national level for the same reason that alcohol is banned. islam doesnt allow for porn and as pakistan considers itself mostly a muslim country and tries to mandate a somewhat islamic doctrine, they ban the things which are not permitted in islam..

now we're gona talk about what social class watches porn avidly....seriously? so rich ppl dont watch porn and consider it disgusting...while its the untouchables in society that cant get it anywhere else so they turn to porn. uhhhh

Re: What about women watching/reading porn?

So should I delude myself that a society full of unrestrained and sexually aware women would be a sexual utopia for men?
I dont support FGM in any case.

Couples should watch porn together.
