i just watched a commercial from the Electric Supply Company that asks general public to call the snitch line and report those who steal electricity…
…really? come on!!! they need to get a call from public to apprehend the thieves? what a joke! they can go to any neighbourhood and find thousands of 'KUNDAAS/KATIYAAS" hanging from the main powerline going into homes and small scale industrial establishments.
the Electric Supply company are in most part the problem…they charge people and they themselves put those KunDaas and make money…top to bottom is corrupt.

and, that's the joke i was referring too. i watched a program yesterday in which this woman anchor went to all the high-kunDaa areas of Karachi and she tried to find out why and who does this? she was told by invariably everyone that it's the KESC whose employees do it for Rs 5-10 K. If they wanted the legal connections, the KESC discouraged them and asked for Rs 15 K to have a connection and then get billed for upto 1.5 lacs in bills. they say they are helpless. they have to have kunDaas to survive.

You are only talking about Karachi, in Lahore i know a meter-reader who pay his bosses to not to promote him, the Mahashay have 3 wives, 3 houses, 2 cars ( toyota corolla, 98 and 92 model) and his salary is only few thousand rupees...
