With his 21st test century Chanderpaul has pushed his test average into the 50s
That puts him in the top bracket of test batsmen who average 50+ after playing 100 odd tests.
Whats more he needs a mere 45 runs to overtake Viv’s 8540 and become West Indies second highest run scorer after Lara
He is a much under-rated batsman partly because of his crabby batting technique, partly because he keeps a low profile

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
**England lost the 4th wicket earlier 2day ..........

Lead is now over 200

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
*100 runs partnership b/w these 2 ......... in just 13.3 overs ...... with run rate of 7.40

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
**Prior gone … but after makin 61 orm 49 balls … :k:
lead is now 209 wid 71 overs left in the day
**Harmison passes on “the message” to Pietersen about the declaration. Interestingly, Stuart Broad is sprinting out to the middle … so it’s obviously going to happen quite quickly. Harmison is now relaying a message from KP to Strauss who looks a little confused!
Eng don't want to lose the series so they definitely want a result, WI would be happy with a draw. Let's see.

**i think pietersen is waiting for his century … ![]()
he is on 90 at the moment

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
I guess his century is more important than winning the match. He should have declared already and give his bowlers a chance just before lunch. WI won't bother chasing 230+ runs in 65 overs.

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
**windies lost their 1st wicket
"I've just back the Windies for £5k to win this," says Scott Napier, a man with more money than sense. "Easy target, even a pub cricket team fielding 10 women could get this run chase." Here's Swann

Re: West Indies v England 5th Test @ Port of Spain, Trinidad
WIndies need 210 runs in 57.2 overs, with a phatta wicket they should be able to pull it, but then pressure .....
