That’ll be extremely stupid and a let down for someone who’s given his heart and soul to the team!

while I agree that rana should be included, I think if the captain and coach thinks shoaib and shabbir gives us better chance to win in WI, than they should not hesitate to drop rana. It’s strictly business. If pats can drop troy brown after the super bowl, we can drop rana. Hopefully there won’t be any hard feelings.

I know it will be heart crushing but then again Test arena is a bit different and lets just face it he has to compete for the 3 slots up for grabs.

and I believe these will be your quickes: Shoaib, Shabbir, Sami and Rana.

another slot that is automatically dedicated to A. Razzaq.

So its a tough choice and plus they might add off-spinner coz WI have many lefties which will narrow down your quickes to 2 + Razzaq.

P.S: we love to see him (rana) in 11 but its not that easy.

why are you all bringing Shabbir directly in the team in such a tough tour.. that guy is away from cricket for some time now. let him play in side matches and prove himself match fit...
that guy also have seripis problem of Extras and I think he really needs to recover from that extra giving habit as well.

I 100% agree. Wining in WI is all we need before we head to England and ICCC Trophey next year. Rana, Malik, Akhtar or even Kaneria, doesn’t matter. If conditions, form or circumtances demand of inclusion and exclusion of a player from particular match or format of the game, team management should not hasitate to take right action. After all we need to get professional, rather than emotional. We need to end this rebuilding phase soon. Now we have found enough pacers, a good batting lineup and couple of brilliant all rounders, we should do what Aus and India do. Play the best suited player for the match. If the conditions or form does not suite for the best strike bowler, then dropping him and bringing inform or suitable subtitude should not raise any eyebrow.

The training camp for WI tour will tell who is doing better and could do better in WI, test or ODI, or both.

Well Shabbir has played for the domestic team he is in and he is getting better.

well I think baby steps are good rather than jumping long leaps, and the training camp we will see familiar faces coz for some reason our coach woolmer has found "the group" which can be nurtured for WC07'

I do expect Najaf Shah to break in the probables, thanks to his wonderful performance in the domestic arena and as well as at Pakistan A tour and Coach woolmer will get a first hand experience of him when he will go to Namibia to see them (Pakistan A) play there.

Mohammad Irshad is quicker than Shoaib Akhtar but he is raw and not ready for test cricket but he soon will get a look in.

you cant have your cake and eat it too, Bhai ODI’s and Test’s are 2 different animals all together, if you are talking about ODI’s then in my humble opinion he is better off batting anywhere after 5 down.

Where as if you are talking about test’s then I would say and this is my opinion only (PCB is not responsible in any way ), nahi yaar seriously, I doubt he would even be selected for theTest’s, Because test’s need what is called “Lambi Race ka Ghoda” and Afridi at his best is like a Cheetah who can beat everyone in short spurts, but concetration or dedication or even Patience and test mentality is not even in his books.

As far as Bowling is concerned, oh yes we forget when he Bats good we overlook all his short comings, but of late his bowling has been nothing to write home about!!.

Aur rahi feilding ki baat, well you can either call him as GOOD or as BAD as any other Pakistani Player and yes i am not talking about the 11 selected to play but all the 16 shortlisted, and may be even all the 30 plus candidates.

Ok now looking at Fiction, lets assume he does get selected for the Test’s, I am willing to bet my last dollar (Only the last one) He will be selected as a bowler, which I repeat is a folly. I wish you guys all the best. I do honestly wish he proves me wrong, (I am one of his staunch Supporters, apart from his Batting Order), but hey I know that and you know that and the Paanwala at the Nukkad knows that.

PS: I know at this time you guys are on a Afridi High, but remember we are The Indo/Pak fans, God forbid he Fails in his Bowling, all of you who are supporting him, will be demanding his Scalp.

If “win” is the real business then why was Akhtar left out of the team from a more important/pressure tour? Now that Rana has done a fabulous job in ODIs you already disowned him in favor of those who are injury-prone or have not played in long time, what logic Mind you, Akhtar was available for atleast 3-4 ODIs but the politics that PCB played with Akhtar he backed out.

Rana should be persisted with atleast in ODIs, but for Tests he may get sporadic chances or may be both of these WI matches to see how he fares.

Yasir Ali is also another quickie who was given a chance in perhaps one ODI, any idea how quick he was? I believe he is raw too (not the Indian RAW ) and he is not doing good in domestic either

Shoaib was available for last 4 matches, true. But since he required a strict lesson for his own good and for team as well, PCB made the right decission. Some times giving a player some extra rest makes him realise where he stands and I hope Shoaib has learned that he is not indispensable.

I hope they all will come back with fire to win the hearts of nation. And yes, if Shoaib and Shabbir are 110% fit for tests, Rana will have to sit out. But for ODIs he sure is in, a good utility player who gives his best for the country no matter how miserable the situation is. But incase if one of the SSS are not fit, Rana sure will be an automatic selection in test as well.

Yes I still want him, once tipped as the future captain and the only dependent person along with Imran Farhat but just because he couldn’t perform in India he is dropped, even Younis was given a 2nd chance then why not the find of 2003/4
