As the description says, this is a place to discuss and share ideas, opinion, tips, problems and such things which may not be shared elsewhere in this forum, or with anyone around you.
We hope all of you will still cater to the general standards of discussion maintained on Gupshup. Feel free to say whats on your mind, and do it in a decent way.
moddddssss, if this section is also for problems like user ban or login problems etc then if somebody is banned from gupshup atleast he or she should not be banned from this corner room, so that one can prove that one is right or wrong.
But if one exceeds his limits then he should be banned from this forum too.

**Well, we had the section on business etc for a long time... as those topics were part of 'Career and Marketplace' section. There was very little posted there on business and related affairs. Now that section is renamed as 'Career and Academics', and business related issues can also be posted there.
We have a catch-all section, which is 'General'. If there is a high-enough traffic and interest to justify having another forum, we will certainly look into it. This discussion board belongs to all the members and if there is enough interest on a certain topic, that shall be accomodated.
'The Corner Room' is essentially for mature topics which may be inappropriate for younger members and hence are not allowed in other sections. We hope our senior members will take advantage of this new section.**

Pristine, first of all I dont know what economy/business/stocks has to do with Academics and Careers.
And secondly , may I also ask what do you mean by "mature" topics - can I put it in "plain" words as topics with sexual content. If yes, I think "Married & Family life" forum is the right place for that (after all only 18+ people will normally be married). If not, please tell us what are the other "mature" topics you have in mind. Examples..please.

Well, I wish there was this forum (ummm...well I wish there was widespread Internet availability to access such forums) when I was learning about the birds and the bees. Could have saved alootta time and cut right to the chase (roman & fraud, stop!! don;t even think about it!!!!!)
ohh well...

Comment: Since the nature of many of the topics in this section is for mature audience and the latest post shows on the homepage, is it possible that the latest post does not show up there? Besides what I have said in some of the posts in this section, I found it very disturbing to see the posts from here flash on the homepage. If this corner is advertised on the home page then you are also advertising young and old alike. So much for trying to keep the young audience out....? Makes sense?
these points i'm reading in this fora written by some very particular guppies - why are they posting such insensitive comments on soem very very controversial topics ?
it ticks me off to the core that with the manner they're talking about on that specific issue is as if they know all about it and if they are corrected by us,
they still are stubborn enough to argue their pointless argument.
they're not even disucssing these topics with an open mind.

So, did you finally learn about birds and bees or you are still chasing 'em?
Roman, my child, one never stops learning during the course of his/her life.
Aphrodite,
who exactly are these particular guppies?? and what exactly is it you find insensitive that these guppies don't. Maybe you're gauging their remarks on your "sensitvity scale" which, as said, is yours only and doesn't apply to everyone.
anywayz, I agree that there's plenty of room here for folks to get carried away and we should weed-out such behavior.
should i be patient with them or what?
Why?? I wouldn't be... Either completely ignore them or let them know!!

Queensryche was(is?) a good group. But "Silent Lucidity" won't do here...
well, if you're talking about such a ..touchy topic such as rape - you'd want to handle it delicately as possible would you not?
where you'd be careful what you say. and if a debate arises from it, you support your arguing point(s) just as sensitively regardless.
which i didnt' think it was in that other thread. it was as if replies were given to such a topic without keeping in mind how really, really severe such an issue is. it's as if you're avoiding the practical point of the true victims of such things ..the victims of rape. imagine how much mental and emotional trauma that person would be going though. but nope, on the other hand over here ... you have another person not even affected by the trauma going on and on for compromising the rights and wrong as to why this happened to the victim? com'on yaar - how insentive can you get with such a thing !
the only thing i can get out of such responses is: welcome to the real world. where insensitivity exists big time.
but when you're posting about such things ... discussing it and giving it your best shot to learn about it (the point of all these foras! ) - it's best to be open minded and not necesscarily have to defend yourself everytime someone tries to kick something more sensible into your opinion.
