Re: weightloss
…It is very hard with a new baby to excercise, but sensible eating goes a long way.![]()
Re: weightloss
With my first child i dropped the weight by 6 months very easily through breastfeeding. By the time she was 16 months (and still nursing) I was underweight. With Maya who is 11 months old I was at my normal weight by 8 months. I think it took longer this time because I'm older and my metabolism has slowed down. So I've been running lately and feel great. It's pretty easy to drop the pounds but to get back to pre-pregnancy shape is difficult. Lots of crunches.
Re: weightloss
shweetdreams, unlike most women thinking...it's not the amount of calorie eaten minus the amount spent exercising at the gym, that makes a person fat or slim....
but the difference between what is eaten, and body energy consumption !
BUT body consumptiun is not only depending on exercise, it's also depending on muscle mass and hormonal levels!
that's why lots of women gain weight under birth control pill....but loose weight during breastfeeding
Re: weightloss
Breastfeeding did not help me lose weight. In fact, as soon as i stopped breastfeeding I started losing weight. I lost not just the baby weight but also what i had been carrying for years! I dont know how this happened without exercise and diet but it did and i am happy about it. :)
Re: weightloss
After starting this thread i have been walking and trying to eat less…leave the poor bags of potatoe crisps alone…no :biggthumb lets see how long this will last…
Re: weightloss
Victory girl i am facing the same problems too,my son is 16 months old now and i am feeding him,but dont losing weight, and i am so much depressed due to it i comtrol my diest and try to be more active and do little exercise but it didnt work, but i heard from other ladies that in breastfeed moslty women dont lose weight and as they stop it they start losing ,anyway docters says that while breastfeding u will lose weight and will be in shpe in alomst few months but it doesnt work with me,i have a hope inshallah opne day i will be on my old weight inshallah.
Re: weightloss
there is another problem with baby weight loss…many women diet before their marriage or pregnancy to please the society, who wants slim brides…after that their body gets disturbed…and when they are pregnant they put up much more weight cause thei body has been damaged by the forced dieting before the babies…and loosing weight after will be far more difficult than naturally…
in fact all medical articles i read about dieting said that for 80% people dieting is ONLY INCREASING WIEHGT!!!
cause after the diet you put more weight on, and the next diet is more difficult…and the circle goes untill you became a fat auntie ![]()
the best advice is : NODIET!! never ever…just try not to pig out on food..and do as much sport as possible ![]()
Re: weightloss
your son is 16months old. How much longer do u plan to breastfeed? whenever you decide to wean that may do the trick. Thats how i lost weight but wonder if it comes back after a while.

Re: weightloss
Forget after having a kid. Some of us are struggling with weight issues without all the hassle that strech-marks and wailing brats bring. afsoos
Re: weightloss
I just lost 3 dress sizes. Just doing workouts regularly (2 times a week) and yoga. Also, a little portion control.
It really works :)
Re: weightloss
I gained a LOT of weight during my first pregnancy, but after my son was born I breastfed him for 1 yr, and didnt lose much. After that one year, I tried to keep the serving portion to the minimum, like 1/4 of a chapati, 1/2 cup of cooked rice with a lot of salan. I didnt go on a low fat diet, I tried eating small meals. WITHOUT EXERCISE, because running after a 1 year old was quite an exercise on its own. It really worked, I could fit in my shadi clothes again.
But this year I have conceived again, and again putting on weight like I did before ![]()
Re: weightloss
LIsten here....when you get pregnant you gain slowly and after the baby you lose the weight slowly.Over indulging in food does not help. When breast feeding one uses extra calories......so keep eating healthy foods, not fried stuff or extra large portions. Walking with the baby in the stroller is also good. So cheer up. Remember it took a long while to gain. then every one is differnt we all lose and gain at our own pace...
