Weight loss routine before wedding

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Aww! Why would i hate you hun? You are trying to help me, sincerely.

The meat, vegetables & fruits are in the salad, soup & salan ill take in.

I am thinking of following all the suggestions and cutting out rice, bread even brown, roti/naan and pasta/chowmein completely. Ill go for having soups/salads/salans/fresh juices. This ill try for a week.

Does shami kabab have high carbs too?I think one shami kabab has 7g of carbs, is that too much? What about fresh juices, i can have them right?

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

We do get saute vegetables here sometimes including cauliflower, carrots, peas, baked potatoes. These we get only once a week. So ill have them.

Also, baked potato has low carbs too, right? Even though its potato but its been baked.

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

the standard timeframe with dropping weight by watching carbs is a 14 day period. now usually nothing happens until the 10th day or so. its like a whooshka that happens in the night. suddenly in the morning you go to the loo and have to pee and pee and pee. and your stomach goes down. its amazing.

but you have to not get discouraged in the days leading up to it. and you cant cheat.

the measure is 20-30 gms of carbs a day. so i suppose if you say your kebab has seven, you got a few left. but if you had chicken tikka or boti kebab you would have a 0 carb meal.

fruit juice no way . fruit juice = pure sugar. fructose. 100 on the GI scale . Like rice. so sorry. if you must eat carbs you want complex carbs. dahl is complex. 27 on the gi scale.

GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

so on this carb diet i cant eat potatoe?

i need some breakfast help... my brekkie is usually starbucks and a muffin :(

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Hey hun,

Salad, and soups are good ... but stay away from salans!!!! Get your veggies another way.

Rather than shami kabob (which has to be fried.. right?) - bake your kabobs instead. It is healthier and reduces calories.

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Hey, I’ve been trying to lose weight as well for quite sometime, and during that I have learned a lot. First of all, you have to understand that the most effective way is to basically eat everything, but in moderation. You should record what you eat so you know that you are doing what you are supposed to do.

So, some of the things I would suggest is first of all going to this site called myfitnesspal.com. I’ve been using myfitnesspal.com for sometime and it’s very helpful and it keeps you in check. Basically you have to enter your current info like weight, height, etc. and then what your target weight is. This way they calculate how many calories you should be having everyday including how much fat, protein and carbs in order to reach your target weight. This way you can put in the info beforehand and know that you are staying within your daily calorie intake limit. Also, you can enter what exercises you have done and for how long, which will calculate how many calories you have burned. Remember that when you do add your exercises it will increase your calorie intake limit because you need a certain amount of calories to be able burn the fat in your body or else if you eat less calories your body will go into starvation mode, which basically just stores the fat in your body, and you don’t want that.

Second, drinking a liter when you wake up, before breakfast is a really good thing because it helps clean out the toxins in your body and also stops you from eating more than you’re supposed to during the day. At least that’s what it does for me. Sometimes we think we’re hungry when really we’re just thirsty.

Third, walking at a fast pace from 45 mins. to 90 mins., 3-4 days a week is also very good for helping you lose weight, and making you feel more energetic and motivated because you will see results right away. I also feel that the best time to exercise is in the morning when you wake up because your body is in the calorie burning mode due to sleeping. Full body workouts are way better than targeted workouts because when you aim for the whole body it helps you lose more fat. This is one of the videos I watch for the full body workout and it’s only 10 minutes long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zItYF3Q_ZCk&feature=related Doing this in the morning is the best way because you will lose even more fat during the rest of the day because you don’t lose as much fat during exercise as you do after.

Finally, check these videos out called: Things you need to know about losing weight, it will help you give more insight into what our bodies need or don’t need in order to lose weight. There are six parts to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVSDHwA6nFw&feature=player_embedded

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Sure they will also help. But may i suggest you buy 2-3kgs dumbells and do ab excercises (alternative days) with them instead of doing them with an equiment. You can continue using ab rocket as well everyday and ofcourse stationary cycle is good too.

Alot of people say that walking is the best thing but i also get lazy but with gym i am quite regular so that works for me :). I think everyone already gave u good tips for proper diet but i would just like to add that dont overdo anything cuz everyone esp the bride should look fresh, cheerful and full of energy  All the best.

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

I need to start something too soon. I am having an engagement party or nikkah within 3 months.
My body type is very similar to yours but I truly hateeee working out and i am addicted to junk food. I used to weight 105 lbs but recently gained 50 lbs due to my food addiction and it wall went to my butt and thighs :(
Anyways, I will be starting my diet/workout in 5 days.. wish me luck.

I was thinking about doing the master cleanse but I feel like I will just faint if I do so...
but here is wht I am planning...

I will join bhikram yoga... I heard it is reallyyy helpful (each class is 90 minutes long and claims to burn 1,200+ calories for someone with my weight and height.)
Also, i will go jogging 5 times per week for 20 minutes at night before bed.
I will take my dog for walks if she wants to come.. she doesnt like to get out in the cold so this one is a maybe.
I got body wrap done and dropped an inch in 1 hour.. so i will get those done twice a week.
I have a fitness trainer so I will go c him twice a week.
Also, I will try to eat as healthy as possible. :)

its hard work but I am sure it will pay off... now I just have to commit. Hopefully I wont quit this time around and keep my big day in mind!

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Ill give you a suggestion which probably no one has mentioned here-and I PROMISE IT WORKS!
Im getting married end of this month, and before my Nikah and even now, I practiced everytime my friends and cousins did dance practices- its exercise in its own way (since Im the kinda person who just cannot go to the gym!), and ofcouse, along with that cut down on all the yummy meetha (cakes, chocolates,mithai-everything) and also decrease the sugar intake. Have fruits instead....
and have LOADS of water, cuz that fills you up plus its great for the skin too! :)

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

does roti have carbs? and do we need to give up all kinds of bread, including brown:(

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

^yes dear they do.

I think doing a non-carb diet is very difficult and you must have lots of courage

Personally, maybe I would start off on a no sugar and oily stuff diet and after a week start cutting off the carb, so that you dont feel it is a big deal all of a sudden. Just my two cents :)

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

my mom goes on no carb diets for a month at a time and looses 10 pounds this way. It only lasts a month because she gets sick of the food she is eating. She then just tried to to maintain her new weight. It works well for her. She does the diet like once a year when she feels that she is going above her limit again. She has bad back problems so can not really exercise... so its all about the diet for her. For breakfast she will eat a couple pieces of fruit, 3 boiled eggs (no yolk) and 2 cups of green tea. If she gets hungry - she eats more fruit. For lunch, she eats baked kabob with salad. Dinner is baked chicken with salad (to change it up a bit). She will change up the spices on the meat before she bakes them so that there is SOME variety. But it does get old after a while. In the morning, she literally lines up 8 glasses of water on her kitchen counter to remind herserlf that is how much water she needs to drink by the days end. Each time she remembers, she dumps out the water in the glass and refills it with fresh cold water and makes sure to drink the entire glass. Whenever she gets hungry, she eats fresh fruit. And during her meals she eats a couple pieces of meat so that it fills her up.

Her diet definitely takes dedication .... but it works 100%. I have seen her transformations myself. She is a mom of 5 kids but will not allow herself to go above 120 pounds mA.

Also - when on the diet, make sure you always take a multi-vitamin.

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

wow for ur mom!!

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

ur mom is dedicated... I wish I could get myself to do that :(

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

Re: Weight loss routine before wedding

There is a safe way to do this and a non-safe way to do this. The non-safe way would obviously be if you did a colon cleansing ALL the time. That is dangerous. But it is actually recommended that one should do it a few times a year. Do not make it your "diet" ... but doing it once or twice before your wedding will be fine. Remember that when people go for their colonoscopies - they have to do a cleanse as well or else the test can not be done.

Do not take laxatives or medicines. Use natural ingredients: I recommend Lemon Cayenne Pepper Cleanse:

<<the Lemon Cayenne Pepper Diet, also known as Master Cleanse. Drinking pure water and peppermint tea when doing this cleanse is optimal to get the results you want. Try not to eat any food the day you do this.

Here are the ingredients of the Lemon Cayenne Pepper Cleanse: (single serving)
-Freshly Squeezed Organic Lemon Juice: (2 tablespoons - about half a lemon)
-Purified, Filtered - Non-Fluoridated Water: (10 ounces)
-Grade-B Organic Maple Syrup: (2 tablespoons)
-Organic Powdered Cayenne Pepper (1/2 teaspoon)

How to Prepare it For Maximum Effect
Always use fresh ingredients when using this and other recipes. If your intention is to detox and purify your body, than it makes sense to start out with organic, pure, ingredients. Go out and buy Purified, Non-Fluoridated Water as regular tap water contains too many chemicals to name here. Also, Grade-B organic maple syrup is used for this recipe, not the "Aunt Jemima" kind. Once you have everything together start the cleanse and be sure to drink 6-12 servings a day for you to se any results.>>
