..anyhoo i dont know whatthread mirch is referring to, but lets look at it from a purely logical sense.
in a situation where a man is working and his wife is not, when he is sick, since she is at home, her taking care of him is not an issue.
Now when she is sick and lets say he can not take time off, whatever his work situation is..what are his options, let her suffer alone or send her to a place where he knows she can be taken care of, or have someone come oveer to care for her, or hire a nurse to help her while she is ill.
not being familiar with the thread I dont know the background but to me it is all about intentions. I see nothing wrong if some dude is in a situation at work where he simply can not take time off, he looks for other ways to make sure his wife gets the care that she needs.
The world is not perfect, the situations people find themselves in are not optimal, but one has to do the best they can.
What you are talking about is fair enough/logical/practical
But in the situation in that post, the husband and his family do not sound as if they are being any helpful, or supportive. and intentions are not there.
