someone posted a thread about wedding halls/hotels in lahore…so i thought i might be ablle to get some info about karachi too…:halo:
My sister is getting married in december in karachi…and we have heard that you have to book the halls waay ahead of time…since december is like the shaadi season there…
so i was just wondering if any of you can suggest some nice places…
i heard there is Defence Creek club…anyone know about that…charges and all…since the weather is gonna be really good…we are looking for some good lawns…preferably in a good area…like maybe defence…or any other good ones u guys know about…
and also if someone has any idea about the caterers…who are the good ones?
Good Caterers are La rosh, Hanif Rajput, and of course Sheraton outdoor catering
also they can do any colour decoration , anytheme, beautiful floral settings and marquees and anything you want

You'd think that the biggest city in Pakistan would have some decent wedding venues, but it really doesnt. Royal Palm and PC Lahore are probably nicer than anything Karachi has to offer. Out of what's available, poolside at the PC Karachi is OK, and Sind Club is pretty good, but the nicest weddings Ive seen are ones in really well decorated tents in people's own gardens.
My wedding was at the Carleton Hotel lawn, its right next to the Creek Club lawns but a lot nicer since you have one wedding at a time on the lawn, instead of having 2-3 at a time at Creek Club.
Well it all depends on how much one can afford on the occassion.
I am getting married this august inshAllah and wanted my valima to be a top class event and for that I was willing to pay anything. But then later I realized that it was extremely expensive and I can get away much cheaper if I dont go to those prime locations like KDA or hotels or even Karsaz mess etc.
Then I decided to go for a old lawn where most of my family got married which can accomodate around 500 plus guest. I can go for variety of dishes and nice decorations stuff.
Plus I the money I will "potentially" save from that will be spent on a five star honeymoon. :) ?Where ? I have got my honeymoon destination already !!
Which hotel do you guys recommend for wedding in Karachi?
Marriot, Pearl Continental, Sheraton, or Avari Towers, also does anyone have an idea on approx cost? Your feedback is very much appreciated----Thank you.
We had a great experience at the Sheraton. I don't know about cost, my parents handled that. But the Sheraton was really nice. It also helped that they have a nice parlor (Cistre) in the hotel itself, so that I didn't need to travel. I know people who had their weddings at the Marriot and at PC -- I think both were happy.
acropolis is not a hotel but its one of the most beautiful wedding venues in karachi. so is the dha golf course. my brother-in-law got married at pearl continental, cost him a thousand rupees per head...

I got married at the Pearl Continental (PC) and loved it. Sheraton is more expensive and maybe the Marriot too.
