If you are shopping here you can expect to spend close to $10K for a decent bari.
If you are shopping in Karachi or Lahore, you can cut that back.
This does not include a large number of joRay. Perhaps 11 (ammi always did odd numbers).
The estimate includes one appropriately sized gold set, 6 gold bangles, 2 gold kaRay and perhaps a light gold item to be used as “munh dikhaee”.
If your family, or the one you are marrying into, is accustomed to giving and/or taking for the immediate family of the bride, then those costs have not been considered in this estimate. (Sometimes gold gifts are given to the MIL and one joRa to each immediate family member. This can add up.)
