I think sometimes people just don’t think about this stuff. My parents did the mang bharai rasam at their wedding but with golden glitter. Both their families are quite religious but I think my dads mom was really into rasms. My mom didn’t like the idea but was too timid to protest. My future SIL actually wanted to do this at my wedding (5 more months to go!) but def not doing it.
