hey guys

i am new to gupshup....very informative forum for the brides to be...:)

I am getting married this december in karachi....and i thought its about time i start planning about the wedding decor and wat i exactly want for the mehndi and the shadi day

I was considering to get some wedding planners....and i came across a few in the "She mag".....La Celebrators.....shadiarrangements. com ...i talked to these guys and they said they take care of basically everything....from the food to decor, etc.....
and another one was....Rak Associates or something.....i talked to them as well....and she got back to me saying that she will charge 50000 rs consultation fees and and all the other charges extra....

I have a couple of ideas in my mind...for shadi and mehndi....m gonna share them with you guys....please give me some feedback.....

for mehndi...i am plannin to have a doli, a dj, Rangoli, a very nice backdrop setting with some sort of theme....maybe ajrak, chunri or jamawar in a particular colour which i am still deciding on....please add any other interesting ideas that we can do in pakistan

for the shadi....DJ again...a theme wedding...with some sort of colour theme all around the decor....wedding favours(wat could be good favours to giveaway in pakistan?? any ideas??) .....I was also thinking of getting a carriage for rukhsati....wat do your guys think about running like a slide wedding presentation like we have here in Canada of the bride and groom....would it be too much for a pakistani wedding?

so...keeping all of these in mind....would it be reasoble to hire a wedding planner....or i can manage that by myself too??...especially since i will be in karachi 2 months before my shadi....I would really appreciate some input especially from the people in karachi.....

and please feel free to add any other ideas about the shadi and mehndi.....

since you have such particular ideas and you're going in wedding season, you probably won't have much time to get all of this done. i say definitely hire a planner and sit down and discuss with them. i'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

I have checked the shaadiwaadi website...and left them a message...no one has gotten back to me...and its been a week...

I am actually looking for some people that re in Karachi ... who would take care of all the decor and everything...

do you guys know of some weddin planners as some people have mentioned wedding planners in the Lahore thread....

their prices for stages, entrance and centre pieces..??

yeah u are rite...even though I ll be there 2 months before the wedding...i still have to take care of the bridal dresses and other shopping...so i doubt that i will have time to take care of this stuff at all..

yeah someone else just recently mentioned that to me....maybe i ll just have a slide presentation on my dholki here in canada...we are having the dholki on a big scale like in a banquet hall n all...so would it be weird to have a slide presentation on a dholki???

wat u said is very true...I heard weddings in Pakistan cost around 10-15 lacs(thats around 25-30,000 CAD dollars i think) depending on how lavish you want them to be....plus if you include the cost of travelling from here to there...it adds up to a big sum....

but weddings here are a lot more expensive...my younger sis is getting married next year here and we figured out the costs....it was way over wat we are paying for stuff in pakistan....

weddings are generally wayyy too expensive where ever they are....

We have got our wedding valima and shaadi done by zoreed raza of lacelebrators www shaadiarrangements.com.
it was an experience to remember .she is reasonable and very proffessional.basically she does every thing.we were really please mesmerized by her interior work.the food selection was very good and she gave us the best service.if u want u can visit her website .

Sonali, As you said that Zoreed Raza of la celebrators www shaadiarrangements.com was reasonable, I contacted her and she gave me a round figure of 5 lacs just for arrangement, venue and food. That makes it Rs. 1000/= per head. I think that is really expensive just for one day. BTW, how much did it cost you?

I have heard that she does amazing her work and I would love to hire her but how can I afford her with this price range?

I just found two planners Zoreed Raza and Plan it. I have sent them many messages but no one seems to reply. What can I do now?
