What color lipstick did you wear on your wedding day? did you go with the traditional red? gold? or something different?
and does anyone know any lipsticks similar to what this bride is wearing:

I wore a pinky brown shimmery colour by Mac but, as with the bride you've posted, the makeup artist mixed several colours together to get the right shade/intensity. I wore an offwhite/tan with army green accents outfit and my eye makeup was a gold/army green sort of mix.

Matt red with light shimmery eyes looks pretty.. dark eyes with pinkish brown is also nice.. I would try a few shades myself to see what suits best or have a trial makeup at the salon :)

i'm gonna go for red lipstick with light/gold eyes with some depth (NOT SMOKEY PLEASE!), bold eyeliner and a natural/pinkish bronzer to maintain the fresh yet classy look! lets see how it turns out. i have a wheatish complexion so i'm guessing red should suit me just fine.

@ramzah that's exactly the look I'm going for as well! Did you find a red lipstick that suits your skin tone yet? Mac has some amazing gold eye shadows!
@makd I understand your skepticism about the red lipstick on baraat though I think I am finally confident about going for it now for a classic look :)

^ Ramzah me too!! I'm not a fan of smokey eyes - they look horrible on me unfortunately; and yes I've had a professional do them for my mangni, and NEVER again :( But smokey eyes look so amazing on some brides that I've seen, wish I could pull it off, oh well sigh
I'm going for a very fresh look. Light cherry lips, eye-liner, neutral eye-shadow and light blush shades - lets see how it goes!

I’m thinking of Dragon by Chanel. It got d/c but thankfully I use mine on rare occasions.
Best part is, there is a matching nail polish by the same name so I’ll do my nails in that color.

@sparklesnflorals and @loverofchai.. glad to hear you guys are going for a similar look. i think red, if done well, can make a desi bride look absolutely gorgeous!!
and no i havent found the right shade of red yet. i'm kind of relying on my makeup artist for a range of reds and her skill to figure out which one would go best with my complexion and dress (i know thats risky!).. i do however think a deep terracotta red should look good on a wheatish complexion fingers crossed
btw, the right kind of gold eyeshade with red lips is equally important. also depends on the color of kaam on your dress! God, so much detail to take care of!

I'm going for a matt red. I'm not fond of the gloss stuff especially since there is so much going on with the outfit and jewellery. I suppose it depends on whether you're going for a simple look or not.

your MUA will probably compromise between the two and give you a cream finish. pure matte can look dated and is very high maintenance, and gloss isn't suitable because it requires a lot of touch up's and can look a little juvenile if its too high-shine. cream finishes are easy on the lips and look fabulous.
