It depends that which school of thought you follow. Normally there are no weddings or any other function are arranged by our Shia brothers and sisters.
For Ahl-e Sunnah, It is Allowed in Muharram, but most of the time people just do not arrange such functions due to the fact that many of their shia friends will not be able to attend.

There are no legal restrictions on getting married in Muharram. Similarily there no legal restriction on getting married the day your mother dies. During Muharram "muslims" remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain a.s. The way ppl remember varies. That, however, has nothing to do with the remembering of the great soul.
So when somebody opts to not to marry in Muharram it is merely out of the respect of the Imam a.s.

How could it be .There is no restriction.But why our shia bhai thought tht i dont know.Actually haqeeqat yea hi hai ke humhare shia bhai Zindagaye ko samjhtay hi nahi.Yaar Bhai maaf karna Tanqeed nahi kar raha haoon haqeeqat bayaan kar raha hoo.Yea log Apnay hi app ko martay peethay hai Aur Itna Ghaam manatay hai aur in Ko yea nahi pata ke is ka natija kuch nikalta hi nahi.In ko yea releaze karna chiye ke Zindagaye Allah ke qanoon ke mutabiq guzarnay ka naam hai NA ke sirf 3 month ghaam manay ka.Halankay shia ke alim e din bhi in ko is se rooktay hai.Shahdi Tu kisi bhi waqt ke jaa saktay hai chahay app ke ghar main Mayaat hi kion na hoo its a agreement tu kia log Jung ke darmayaan agreement nahi karty.Yea jung ka khataam hoonay ka intazar karty hai ke humhary sab army khatam hoo jaye tu agreement karain gaye.

There is no authentic verse in Quran or Hadits that u cannot marry in the month of Muharram or Ramadan.

3 din say ziaada sooog maanany ki ijaazat nahi hai islam mai.... na k pura month aur yai 10 din k liya.

so what abt the the mother's death anniversary? Give me an example of a person who would marry on his/her mothers death anniversary. A person who does so has in fact, in my opinion, forgotten his own mother. What do you think? But again there are no legal restrictions. You could marry anytime you want.
But it so happens that some remember their parents and their Prophet's(saw) family. Others dont give a sh** abt it.

islamically it's NOT bad...............but socially ppl's opinions vary on it(as u can see in the above posts)..........so well.......it just depends on whtYOU & the ppl around you think........it's as simple as tht...........!!!!!!

i asked the same question a few months ago, is it ok to get married in ramadan..and it IS technically allowed but just not really done...

The marriage of Hazrat Ali ra and Hazrat Fatima took place in Muharram 3 hijri.

But that was before the tragedy of Kerbala. Now, Muharram is associated with the sacrifice of Imam Hussain a.s. People hold majalis to commemorate the act of abnegation of the Imam a.s. in this month. It is for this reason people avoid celebrations such as marriage etc.

^I will buy that, it makes sense to me not to marry specially on 10th Muharram as this was the day of tragedy of Kerbala, however, one then, must concur that Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatima ra too, DID NOT know that tragedy of Kerbala will take place in Muharram, however, to this our shia brothers do not agree and insist that Imam Ali ra knew everything.
And it is Sheikh Mufid the highest of shiite scholars and historians who writes that marriage of Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatima ra took place on 21st of Muharram.
By the way marriage of Hazrat Safia ra and Rasoolullaah saw also took place in Muharram.

Br. It is really not technically true.
Well you wrote always in Urdu so don’t you know that ‘SHAIDI’ meaning ‘happiness’ khoshi and ‘death’ ‘Mauth’ is sorrow & gham why you want to mix kushi & gham together. I know marriage is an agreement but this is not an ordinary agreement. Nikkah is allowed any day of the year however if there is (doubt) positive chance if someone gets into Haram. If you want I can explain you how to get into harram but it is my understanding that you will get my point.
