So 8 days left for my big day and I still don’t have my dress neither the jewellery. most stressful time of my life right here right now!!!
ordered my dress via Ammar Shahid in Lahore: was told I would have the dress by Aug 23, He didn’t finish the dress until 3 days ago. Refuses to send me any pictures whatsoever, I still paid extra charges to have it completed by aug 23. Never seen such lack of communication; had to send multiple emails to get him to respond with incomplete answers and not to forget the amount of money I paid! I will NEVER order via designers unless I have 6-12 months time!!!
Ordered jewllery via jewelngem in UK: again paid for rush delivery but wasn’t told it could take few days for custom clearance on top of actual delivery time. Was supposed to receive jewellery 3 days ago, still waiting. Jewelngem takes zero responsibility, told me to just sit and wait.
YES I should have ordered in advance but people shouldn’t take orders when they can’t deliver on time or should proude full information on custom clearance crap before accepting extra charges for rush delivery/completion of dress!!
For those who are looking to order their dress from a designer and are sitting abroad: lie about your actual wedding date!!! Tell them 4-6 weeks advance date than your actual date as they will not deliver on time!!! I was too honest and told them the real dates which they couldn’t care less!!
so so so frustrated with lack of honesty, ownership and professionalism !! Just praying to Allah this gets delivered ASAP and dress fits. (

Start looking for Backup Outfit because if designer didnt send pics of the outfit then I'm afraid your outfit isnt ready. Dont you have any relatives here who can communicate with designer?
Finally got the dress few hours ago. It was stunning when I first saw it however now I know there has been compromise with the work. Sigh. :(
overall it still looks stunning but I wished the designer told me he is cutting down on work due to time strain and not charge my the same amount :(
ammar shahid is a pretty big designer, i cant believe he would cut down work and charge the same??! do u mind showing us what u ordered, he only has a few bridals and they are around 4-5 lakh range...maybe u can bring this issue upto him and let him know u will be putting honest feedback on the forum and he needs to pay you back if he spent less money on making the actual dress. i know some guppan was able to recover her money from a replica designer husn e afza after she cheated her, ammar shahid is a big name so try that please !! do u mind showing us the design u got and actual pic of what u recieved? dont let them get away with your money if they didnt deliver what was shown please! its our hard earned money

Yes got the jewelry bit it doesn't go so I might be going with the gold from inlaws.
duaa: here is a pic of the dress. The work on neckline looks a lot less and there isn't much dapka work done but I can't tell from the model picture how much dapka work there was. Dress was thrown into a DHL box, without proper packing which caused some of the stones to come off.. I dunno of this was custom or Ammar just threw it as we had argued a few times.
ps: I still love the dress. Pearls are stunning. It's TOO heavy due to all the stones and pearls but I LOVE it.

Yes, he isn't the nicest of all once you actually question him. As long as you agree to him, he is sweet. But it isn't about being nice, it's about ethics, honesty and professionalism. This wasn't cheap neither he gave me a deal. I paid full as he asked only cuz he committed to delivering ON TIME EXACTLY AS THE DRESS IN THE PIX. When I made the 75% deposit, his due date changed and I knew this was gonna be a bad experience. In the end, I was constantly following up for updates, and when the dress was delayed, I had to send multiple emails to get him to reply. He uses political BS happening in Lahore (which I sure was an excuse) as to why the dress is delayed. I paid 10,000 ruppees for delivery yet I paid all the custom/duty charges which he chose not to pay.
I won't recommend him for his ethics and lack of professionalism.
3 lakh plus 30,000 ruppees for double production as he asks for 3-3.5 months however this was done in 50-55 days plus 10,000 shipping (originally 20,000 for shipping) so 3.4 lakh.

That's paki ruppees plus I paid about $32 in custom/ duty. Again, it isn't about the $32 as I paid almost $4100/3.4lakh for the dress, it's about his true colors coming out. Little things like that can impact your reputation as a designer. was planning for my reception dress from him but not happening!

yea i know what you mean my best friend went to Sana Safinaz in real with appt to their studio and they were so unprofessional Safinaz (i think ) she was busy chatting away on her phone and Sana took 3-4 mins to show some pieces and asked my friend to place the order, my friend wanted some changes to the piece she had chosen but Sana was insistent that she should do what she is saying coz it wont look nice, i mean it seemed so annoying and my friend didnt get what she wanted at the end, despite of the dress being still gorgeous though, i m so shocked that Ammar shahid is still pretty new and hes acting like this, I mean he tries to compete with HSY all the time.. hmppphhh
