Yes.

In 2003 or 2004 the government in Indian Kashmir passed a law saying that anyone who threw a wedding with more than 125 guests (75 from the bride’s side, and 50 from the groom’s) and/or served more than 90 kg of food total would be imprisoned.

The law was met with so much public opposition that it had to be shelved before it even went into effect.
