hiya, im new to this thread and am getting married next year,im going karachi in aug this year. i have not been to pak for ten years so dont know really what to expect…

any pointers???

also what are the good boutiques in karachi and jewellery stores? although i’v heard lahore is better for bridal wear and jewellery, is this correct???

any advise would be great

Hey surma88 ,

welcome and congrats on ur upcoming wedding even tho im new to this forum aswell . its a good forum . i dont know about karachi but yeh lahore is fantastic for shopping , i am getting married in november (Inshallah) and will do my shopping from there.
However i know a lot of ppl from karachi and woteva shopping they do from karachi is always fantastic too . so dont worry im sure u will find woteva u need from karachi too .

zamzama and Tariq road is best for clothes......if you can pay $3000-$6000 for one wedding dress then you can try buying it from zamzama and if not then you can just get ideas from zamzama and go to Tariq road and get it made for cheaper there
Sadar Karachi has gold stores , if you want gold jewelery but you can also try Tariq road
just have a good time and don't stress out.....inshallah i'll be going summer of '08 :)

also HSY of whom i have heard of, however ppl say his very arragont and dont listen to you...is this true????????

i dunno about Meera's but hmm HSY is arrogant eh......well personally i dislike going to places where the designers would act snobby cause that ruins my entire mood and i just think "who the hell do they think they are?" so yea
well anyways you can try Maria B and just go to HSY and see how they treat you ......i know that personally Tariq road ppl are muuuch nicer and you can cut the prices there as well .....i bought my engagement dress from Tariq road and it was gorgeous and unique

hmmm you know that is true espically HSY, however not all are like that it really depends on the person.

but u'd think that they would be polite cause ur the customer and buying a expensive outfit its like there doing you a favour not the other way round.

lol and knowing me i'll just blurt something rude in return, cannot tolerate rudeness whatsoever...........in that case screw designer dresses cause noone's gonna come and read the label on me at my wedding
the only thing that counts is if your dress is gorgeous and looks good on you.....doesn't matter if its designer or not
