I’m going to Pakistan next week for the summer holidays, and I was hoping to buy a few outfits that I can wear to weddings happenin between October and next year.
What would you guys suggest that I should buy which will be fashionable next year? Does anyone know what the big trend for next year will be? Also, I really love the anarkali designs that are fashionable now, but i’m not sure if they will still be the rage next year?
Also whats the best place to shop for formal outfits for wedding guests? I will be visiting Lahore and Islamabad for a couple of days each. So I’d be glad if anyone local to those areas could give me any tips on the best places to shop.
It won't hurt to buy one anarkali, just make sure it's not too heavy with kaam.
You can't go wrong with a medium lenght kameez with a plain shalwar...but shalwars with lace (strips of embroidery and/or beads) are trendy, at least last time i checked.
Saree (if u wear them) is always in style. a banarsi saree that's not very heavy with kaam is always a classic.
A few of the very trendy styles i've seen are the capris and sherwani + loose trouser style. I don't see capris going out of style any time soon, so it'd be worth it to get one.
And a churidar with a regular kurta (not an anarkali) is also always in style.
In Lahore you can go to Anarkali bazaar, or Rang mahal, or Liberty, or hit the designer outlets on Mm alam road and in defense, it all depends on your budget and tastes. I'm less sure about Islamabad, I remember i went to Jinnah Super and i bought a really nice pair of shoes, but everything else was closed, so i can't judge their fashion =//
Sara: thanxs I will definately be buyinga saree and a salwar kameez. I'm hoping to buy about 4/5 beautiful outfits that will cost in the range of £1000 in total - hopefully that should be enough.
Not sure about capri's - do not like the idea of exposing my legs.
But, was hoping someone would know what is the up-coming fashion. I wish silsila still came on, she would probably know!
