^^ I don't quite agree with that statement. Wedding is one of the most exciting time for us. Yes, at times we do lose the perspective and become bridezilla but that certainly doesn't means we are annoying in our everyday lives.

At the end, we all have one dream i.e. living a happy married life.

Wedding is a big big day for any girl since we all dream about it all our lives. Let her just enjoy these months and be patient with her. Once all the preps are in place, she will be back to normal.

Serious answer: practically by birth, us Pakistani girls are raised to believe that our worth is tied into our fathers and later our husbands. Marriage is the life goal. hence, the craziness over dresses and stuff.

the sad thing is everyone wants to be so unique but most of it is recycled bollywood type stuff. rarely would you look at something and be like wow thats different...

not many elegant, daytime, beach weddings in desi community are there?

14 years ago, I begged my mom to let us do a small, intimate daytime affair, like a brunch at the Arboretum (alas, no beaches in Dallas!) without all the glitz and glitter…didn’t go over very well…khair, I gave it the 'ol college try :cb:

God, i didnt even knwo what my wedding dress was until 3 days prior to the baraat..

Im all for the one day weddings, with elegant receptions.. not the whole band baaja type stuff...
