and i would have agreed with that, had i not seen first hand the difference between a designer lehenga and a boutique bought one last summer. the nomi ansari outfit my sil bought for her shaadi was 2.5 lakh and a work of art. it is absolutely stunning. we paid 1.5 for her valima outfit from jabeen’s and it is a lovely, lovely jora, but it is like comparing apples and oranges. when you buy designer, you really are paying for more than just the kaam and the material- you’re paying for their expertise in doing what they know how to do best. so there is something to be said for paying that much for a designer, whether it be nomi at 2.5 lakh or bunto at 5.5 lakh…
