Salam everyone,
I am getting married soon and was getting ready to set up my appointments for makeup, hair, nails, etc. I was wondering which order should I do these things in. I’m thinking makeup at 2:00, hair at 3:30 (I’m getting them done at different places), and nails around 4:30/5:00. The photo shoot before the wedding is at 6:30pm. What do you guys think? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No, I am in California, and unfortunately was not satisfied with my hairdresser doing my makeup or vice versa. That's why I have to arrange everythign so I can get one thing done right after another and have enough time to get home.

i think you should get your nails done first otherwise your make up wont be that fresh by the time you have your photos etc...this will also mean that you can be more relaxed during your hair and makeup appointment and not worry about rushing off to your next appointment. Hope that helps!

Pomegranate, you should definitely get your nails done first. If you wait until later, then as city_girl said, your makeup may not remain fresh for the actual event. Also, maybe to cut down on your stress, you could get your nails done in the morning or the day before. That way you will just have to worry about hair and makeup.
Also, try not to get too tired running around getting things done. You should try and keep the day less hectic, because there will be enough nerves to deal with!! :) Hope you have a great wedding day, and an even better married life. Best wishes!!

^Yup, do nails first -- in fact, do them a day before so that you have less to worry about if you can. You're going to find the day very hectic. One less stop will make your life easier.

Also, please remember: People are going to stressed, there will be tons of little conflicts, and minor concerns. Don't get hung up on them. It's the best advice I can give you. In the end, inshAllah, everything will go well, even if it's not perfect. Let others worry about the details. You just concentrate on being there with your hubby-to-be and looking lovely.

Get your hair and make up done last so that it is fresh, as others have mentioned, and nails done first.

Agree with all the girls....i had my nails done the day b4 my wedding. Have ur make up and hair done last.

I agree, get your nails done a day before if you can. Less stress, less running around. Also, have you taken into account travel time between appointments? It seems you're cutting things really close... be sure to give yourself enough time. Lastly, I think you might actually want to consider getting your hair done first, then your makeup. As people mentioned, you want your makeup to be fresh, and you want to look your best for the pictures.
When you get your hair done, they might use a blow-dryer that will maybe mush your makeup a bit, or you might want to have your hair washed, or a whole bunch of other things, which can end up smudging ur carefully done makeup, leaving you even more stressed out. At salons, they always do hair first, then makeup, so I think you should consider doing that too.
Congratulations on your wedding! Be sure to try and enjoy it as much as you can.

My cousin got married recently...she had her hair and makeup done by the same person who insisted she have her makeup done first then her hair. But like syani i always thought it should be the other way round....hair first then makeup...well that's what i always do anyway whether i'm going to work or to a wedding.
How about waxing and facials? what should the schedule be before the wedding? i think a facial should be about a week and a half before the wedding?

Always do waxing and facials and threading and watnot a week before, so that you don't have any unnecessary redness or allergic reaction :)

Oh and if you can get the nails done the day before so that you are a bit more relaxed.. are u just getting a manicure and nail polish or acrylic tips? Coz if you get tips, you can deff get them done days (upto a week) in advanced n theyll look nice at the wedding.. Also what about threading/waxing/facials/pedicure? And mehndi?

i was also married recently and my advice is that u should done urs nail first and then style ur hair ,make up should be in the last so that it looks fresh in shoot .

Thank you all so much for your wonderful advice. I think I have made up my mind now to get the nails done first (maybe even a day before) and then prob get the hair done and leave makeup til the end. I really appreciate all your help and feel as if I have a bunch of sincere bridesmaids right here on gs! Thanks again:)

Sara - I am getting the facial and hair cut/dye done a week before and waxing about 3 days before. Do you guys think this is too late?

No, that sounds perfectly fine, but i'd still leave the facial threading/waxing for a week before , aroudn the same time you get a facial.. just to be on the safe side.. however, I dunno about facial threading and waxing and how far apart htey shud be, :)

My sis got her nikkah very recently and like u she got her hair n makeup frm diff places...makeup first and thn hair..but whatever u prefer..depends on what hairstyle r u getting dun!
