Hey guys, don’t know if any of u went thru this, but my wedding happens to fall at a time when maghrib prayer will start and finish in the middle of the ceremony, what do i do??? How do i pray in my wedding clothes?
Re: wedding and prayer
you can pray while sitting...'in isharas' or you can do a qazaa later on :)
Re: wedding and prayer
yeah doing qaza is better option, if u are unable to pray on time then qaza is better than leaving :)
Re: wedding and prayer
first of all its preffered to pray on time as one can get hindred to due to circumstances lets say someone is at university having his/her class or gets hindered or he or she is sick and therefor can not perform his/her namaz.
Maghrib and Isha namaz gets kazaa after midnight so You can combine your maghrib with isha namaz like before it gets kazzah.
This is according to shia aswell as sunni fiqh that you can combine your obligatory namaz or pray the kazaah prayers.
I knowaccording the shia fiqh that it is permissable to combine the asr and zohr ie. like praying zohar after asr,,,,,and in the evening after the maghrib adhan is called u can pray maghrib and continue with isha.
I havent been in such a circumstance coz i prayed namaz before i went to the parlor.
Its very imp to pray namaz your kazaah namaz afterwards if u cant help it and a 2 rakat namaz e shukr after your wedding when you go to the hotel and pray namaz and do duas to enter a blessed life together.
hope it will work out well for you inshallah :)

yah u can pray in isharas but not with makeup on and nailpolish, you really have to clean all that! :) even if u have makeup and wudhu , the wudhu will be void!
i have seen women praying with nailpolish and asked a molvi about it and he said it should be removed as the water can not cleanse your nails tohrougly makes sense.
and sheal is right :)
Re: wedding and prayer
firstly, i would never EVER qaza my prayer, even if it's my wedding! I'd miss my wedding but not my prayer (insha'Allah, neither will happen hehe)! And just cuz it's my wedding, that isn't a valid reason to make the prayer up later and just miss it. So that's not an option. And thanks marrypoppins for ur response, but no, sunni's cannot just combine prayers. And also, ishaa prayer doesn't end at midnight, but rather it ends at the time fajr time comes in, so ishaa isn't a problem, it's just maghrib (which ends at the time ishaa comes in)....like i'm gonna pray it for sure insha'Allah in the middle of the ceremony, but i just don't know if anyone has been thru this, and how they did it with all the heavy clothes!
thanks anyway for the responses guys! but qaza is really not an option for me. Allah(swt) blessed me with such a wonderful day, i'm not gonna take this gift from Him(swt) and miss my prayer.
Re: wedding and prayer
you can do your wudu...then use the nail color...that way you d still be 'in wudu' and pray with isharas during the ceremony...as opposed to a qazaa
Re: wedding and prayer
Why dont you do wudhu first hand before getting ready and pray in ishara?
Re: wedding and prayer
.
Re: wedding and prayer
Do your wudu first and then the nailpolish. I've seen some brides leave for a short bit in the middle for make-up touch ups etc. so you can definitely use the waiting room/ etc to offer prayers, since maghrib is such a short namaz anyway. I don't think it'll be a big deal. Nice question though.
Re: wedding and prayer
here in saudia the function starts after isha so no biggie for namaz. i saw brides in the parlour they did offer prayer while getting ready. qaza is the option better than leaving and as u said that u never qaza your prayer, so do i. but sometimes there came a situation in which u cant do any thing so in that case offering it qaza is better than completely leaving the prayer.
and yes in sunnis there is nothing like that combining the prayers.
good luck lilmisssweetness. Allah will help u as u are trying ur best to find a way u can pray on time so inshallah Allah will definitely help u.

Really thats new to me, do you have references?
It doesnt make much sense to me , that would mean that you can do wudhu apply makeup on and pray namaz? I thought wudhu meant to cleanse your body and soul? and nail polis is obviously made of chemical products?
Sorry for going off-topic but i couldnt leave to ask that from chanda_kh
Btw lilmisssweetnes , i had heard from a sunni brother who told me it in certain situations it is permissible....however i hope it works out well for you inshallah.
We shias and sunnis dont differ much but khair....maybe u can ask a molvi?
Re: wedding and prayer
thats what i heard too, u can't do wudhu with nailpolish on. so u should first do wudhu and then put it on. and u can pray with nailpolish on, as long as u did ur wudhu before putting it on.

You can do wuzu first and then apply makeup (on the face), as well as nail polish..this i am sure of...however once that wuzu is broken, i guess u'd have to take the nail polish off to do it over.. not sure about makeup since i've never heard that wearing makeup makes wuzu invalid like nail polish would.
Re: wedding and prayer
^yea, i only heard abt the nail polish..i always do wudhu with make up on.

Absoloutely correct!!!!!
there is NO concept of doing Qazaa for Salat. Period! and no, being dressed up as a bride does not give us the space to pray with ishaara either. Besides, who of us has the guarentee of living for the next 5 seconds that we can even think of delaying our Salats for 5 hours?!?
Marriage is such a blessing from Allah SWT! ibaadat to Him should be our FIRST priority...
I have spent soooooooo much time thinking about this issue as well! and I have come to realise that I may need to ditch the really good parlours in Zamzama (which are literally on the other side of karachi from where we live/ where the hall is). I'm thinking of talking this issue through with the beautician from beforehand, that we plan everything... maybe the hair setting can be done first, then i'll pray maghrib inshallah and then do the rest of the makeup. Oh, and before Maghrib, you can change into your lengha and top, keep a light dupatta on hand, and pray, so the "real" dupatta setting can be done AFTER maghrib as well. This means that the beautician has to be located in close proximity to the hall so that the makeup can be done quickly AFTER maghrib and i still make it to the hall in time, Inshallah.
Just make heaps of dua to Allah SWT, offer salat-al-haajat if your'e stressed about the issue. I'll tell you one thing from expereince, every time you make a pure intention of making an effort in Allah SWT's cause, HE always helps us find a way to achieve it. I'll remember you and all other sisters in such a situation in my duas. :) May Allah SWT guide us and help us all, Amin.
Re: wedding and prayer
Qazaa is definetly not an option here. Like how others said, do ur wudhoo put nailpolish on and pray maghrib. You can just wear an abaya or like a very long dupatta and can pray.
Wudhoo is a spritual cleansing so wearing makeup and nailpolish by itslef does not break the wudhoo. however u cant do wudhoo wearing nailpolish as water wont touch the nails.
Re: wedding and prayer
THis is teh first time i am hearing that nail polish nullifies your wudhu and that you have to do it again? Maybe its the opinion of a certain scholar or madhab? SOmeone please correct with a source if i am wrong.

yeah me too!!
Once u are in state of wazu....and apply Nailpolish...I don't think it nullifies your wazu...I've never ever heard of such a thing!
