This is something they have started wearing in Pakistan too . I was shocked to know that . ![]()
Re: Wearing a Dress
One of my friend flatly denied husband's request of wearing "spaghetti" sleeves (if you can really call it a sleeve) in public. Guy was pissed off but he came to terms later on and now that years have passed, he actually appreciate it....
Re: Wearing a Dress
If you're that uncomfortable with wearing such dresses in public....then can a compromise be reached? What if you wear short dresses at home instead? See how he responds to that?
^If he can't even accept that....which is better than you refusing all together....talk to him about why it makes you feel uncomfortable. Maybe after a while, he'll get over it. There are other more serious issues that can strain a marriage....this seems minor in comparison.

That's because they're not sleeves, they're called spaghetti straps :p
Ummmm personally i have no issues showing a little leg (knee length and below)....i don't wear sleeveless for other reasons...clevage is a no-no though.

or simply, ask him to wear his long kurta in public, without wearing any pajama under it. Then the rascal will learn.

Re: Wearing a Dress
if he luvs u for who u r thn he wont FORCE u to wear something u r not comfortable with but i think this clearly shows tht hes not so proud of the REAL you (not PCG but in general)
as my husband says beauty is in simplicity:D
bck to topic- first of all he wouldnt n if he was to say tht i wud only wear them at home, not in public
my 2 cnts
Re: Wearing a Dress
i just never understood the concept of ur husband asking you to wear something. what kinda mind must he have :D ur going out, how does it affect him?
Re: Wearing a Dress
i'll wear whatever he likes... but if that means my stretchmarks and things i dont find appealing about myself are on display... then i'll have to decline
Re: Wearing a Dress
if im ok with what he likes me to wear, i dun mind...but if im not comfortable with it, id flat out tell him. No biggie. A guy should never request you to do something you are not comfy with
Re: Wearing a Dress
^ exactly
having said that.... he should know who he's married anyways... before making requests that he knows will make you uncomfortable... yeah?
I think this is the sketchy part… if the hubby was so moderate/liberal to allow his wife to wear a knee legnth dress in public.. then he also shouldn’t have a problem with his daughters wearing dresses either. There is just a lack of consistency here that is just going to end up making the daughters feel repressed and rebellious in the future. Like their mom can do this in front of their face and but they cant???
I personally would wear whatever my hubby wants me to as long as I feel comfortable in it and he isn’t pulling any hypocritical crap like this guy is.
Re: Wearing a Dress
Uhhhhhh
if a guy will be okay with his wife wearing it, chances are he should have no problem with his daughters dressing that way.
now if lets say the family gradually changes and becomes more conservative thats different.. but i dont think theres a single man who will be okay with his wife wearing something in public but not his daughter
As for being okay with seeing the women around him in dresses but not wanting his daughters to wear em, well thats a big fat DUH.

Wear what others may 'appreciate', eat what you like. (Urdu: Khaao Man Bhaata, Pehno JUg Bhaata)
Re: Wearing a Dress
So wear the size 2 skimpy dress he picks out and continue to eat mcflurries...
That's a recipe for disaster.
