True and I agree plus I would say we need to EDUCATE our clergy (if they can be!) abou this because millions of our clueless people only listen to them in their weekly indoctrinating sermons. And most of them are strongly against any such voice of reason.

Allah malik hai beshak. But He has given us a brain to think with and decide for ourselves. He gives 'rizq' but then why do millions of people in poor countries go hungry every day? Why do thousands of children in Pakistan pick rotten food items from litter dumps? Why do hundreds of people die out of hunger in Somalia? My dear there are other ways to population control and not just 'forced castration'. We have to be rational to survice and prosper and live a happy life.

Then I know midwives used to go home to home to brief women about BC methods and free prophylactics being distributed by government for ages. What we achieved ? A population explosion.
So what is the solution. Some radical thinking , some radical laws and some radical methods for population control . And it should all be done on an emergency basis before people start eating each others. They are already at each others throat and killing each other for petty reasons.

I think that is not impossible. Even today the ruling coalition in Pakistan consists of seculars. I think this can begin on the government level. Constitutional correction are essential in this regard. Religion needs to be de-constitutionalised. This will de-fang the clergy. Only honesty and some bold decisions are needed on the part of the ruling elite.

I hate to say it instead of looking up to China's way of controlling population we should look at India's way. Incentives are offered for having only 1 or 2 kids. Unlike in China where your kid gets taken away or you have to pay a fine.
Not to mention our Mullah problem adds on to the population explosion problem as Mullahs encourage their followers to have as many kids until they run out. People should be educated about this from the start. Newly weds should be provided with free condoms. Birth control pills and Condoms should be everywhere.

Religion is part of constitution cosmetically. Where do you see religion being implemented ? In business ? In daily life ? In government offices ? In Masjid I fail to see core values of religion being followed in Masjid ? Even mullah does not follow the religion to its core. Something else has given power to Mullah and that is illiteracy of our masses. Only education can bring the change in the thinking of masses. Mass education will give people open mindedness and ability to think for well being of their family . Once you educate massed Mullah will be marginalized automatically.

These useless Mullahs have created such a mess in Indian states like UP and Bihar. They have issued fatwas against use of polio vaccine and use of condoms. They dont encourage modern education, its because of them their followers have become a neglected lot.

Yes its all about cosmetics which in other words is hypocricy and shallow understanding of religion. It is here that the power goes to the literalist. The cosmetic of religion leads to ignorance the spirit does not. It is the cosmetic that is at the root of every evil in our society. The masses take the literal/cosmetic of the mullah for the real and there begins the problem.

There was a news report on NPR on this very issue. They quoted a Mullah from Lahore as saying that reproduction is an obligation on all Muslims, and issues of overpopulation and all the problems that stem from it are best left in the hands of God. With thinking like this, what hope is there…

Educating women is where it starts. Its been proven that by educating women and empowering them to make decisions, you reduce birth rates.
