We are slaves

Re: We are slaves

At last someone with some sense.

Fancy degrees and the materialistic things that come with them never gave anyone any happiness.

We’re bombarded with all crap about how necessary it is to have a career for purpose in life, that’s just all hollow crap man, they’re mentally enslaving us to the society and the country we live in, at the end of the day there’s very little we’ll personally gain out of it.

I admit it’s necessary to have academic qualifications or at least know some trade so that you don’t end up living off the dole but we shouldn’t make it the sole/major purpose of our lives.

This glamorous image that is portrayed of the big wigs is nothing but superficial, in reality these people are the most discontent losers on the face of this earth.

They keep running after materialistic things to attain satisfaction but they never do, very soon the initial satisfaction wares of and greed for more kicks in, even when they have all the unnecessary luxuries they can’t make proper use of them or the good things the rest of us take for granted because they are stuck in their high stress jobs most of their lives, in and out of the surgery/office or preparing for work at home, it’s mad.

I’m happy with the small things in life, an average paying job I enjoy with moderate work hours, an average house, average car, extended family living with moms and pops, a missus who I love to bits, chilling with the lads, lots of kids who I can play football with.

I’ve told my pops I don’t want to end up some frustrated and depressed freak stuck in an office for the rest of my life and then look back at my years in old age and think what a waste, and pops agrees with me he says he’s wasted so much of his life in pardes, he told me to complete my studies just so that I’ve got something to fall back on and we’ll go back home, get me and my brothers married off and set up a small business and live off that and “an’ live off fatta’ the land…” That’s what I want, that sort of a simple lifestyle would be ideal, there’s so much unnecessary things we stress out ourselves lusting after, bliss is within our own selves, just keep your needs and wants limited and don’t let environmental and societal influences effect you and you’d be right.
