This will be the first time a final will be played without any involvement of Brazil, Argentina, Italy or Germany.. That is astonishing!

i.e. the eventual finalists have to play 7 games in all

I appreciate that there are just too many teams (32) in the World Cup but the format of the tournament is such that the two best teams in the world don't necessarily meet each other in the final. Do not tell me that Italy was the best team around in 2006!
It is less so the case in
cricket - where the last three world cups in 1999, 2003 and 2007 were also won by the best team (Australia) in the world or
hockey where three teams - Australia, Germany and Holland - who have dominated world hockey over the past two decades have also shared world cup wins. Australia winning it in 2010, Germany in 2002 and 2006 and Holland in 1998. Although Pakistan last won the world cup in 1994, our decline in hockey had started much earlier, mid-80s.
So it is no surprise then that we see two teams who have won almost all of their games by the narrowest of margins (i.e. one goal) reaching the Football world cup final
Have a look at their respective wins and don't tell me it is all merely down to co-incidence

Cant wait for tonight. Go Espana! Netherlands have been rock solid this tournament but if Spain plays up to even 70% of their potential, they will be world champs..
Torres is due a goal and I have a suspicion he will do it tonight coming off the bench.

33 minutes passed and still no goals. No excitment in game. they r playing just like children. In first 15 minutes two yellow cards for both team’s players. 
miss the golden chance very very bad tackling they even can’t strike

First half is over additional 2 minutes given but both team ended up with zero. Its look like trainning match not real world cup
OMG! how innocent i am. I thought the world-cup is only showing on pay channel but 2day my brother said u can watch the match on a free air channel
