But atleast they have given a good account of themselves with the bat unlike Pakistan and India who shamed themselves in 1999 and 2003 Finals

What has that got to do with what is happening in the middle. A loss is a loss.

Every team has its ups and downs, SL performance in 1999 as defending champion was nothing to shout about either.

One cannot but help feel a little bit sorry for the Sri Lankans.
They were making a match of it....then dark clouds begin to develop...and Duckworth-Lewis comes into play....and the Sri Lankans lost Jaisurya trying to get on top of the D/L target score....and the D/L target gets even further.

Far from ideal conditions...these. Certainly for a WC Final.

man we need to change some laws and figure somethings out after this world cup, there are way too many matches, many big ones as well, that are affected by rain and DL methods, this final is a fitting end to this disgraceful world cup tournament
