WC warm up matches (Merged)

14 wides and 10 no balls!
This calls for criminal proceedings against the culprits.

Bilal,

Now do yuu see why I am so hasrh on them-not that I dont support them, but they are a load of bull....

Pakistan will make the super 6 at best.

mo-best, u talk too much man. I bet you have never played a 25 overs match, let alone a 50 overs one. Dude, players have on and off days. I have played cricket at the professional level and sometimes in cricket, it just happens. Give them a break. InshaAllah, they will do a lot better when it matters.

Dont be sad. Here is a consolation.
India also lost..

:rotfl:

Man I captained my skool team for 2 years and have plenty of practie paying cricket, be it in school games, or with friends under proper conditions-not to mention I am a student of the game.

We have been lowsy for a while, since the W's fell off due to age and the batting has always been weak in this era.

All you can say is "insha allah"-is a divine gonna take up a bat and walk out into the middle? NO!

You must look at things logically, ie poor players-form, not just hope against hope that they will pull it together! :)

mo, no need to make fun of "InshaAllah". You know exactly what I meant and it wasn't what you implied in your reply.

mo,

looking at things logically works most of the time but applying logic to Pak cricket's never really worked in the past. We blow hot and cold man, if we get on a roll anything can happen.

Fun,

Sos if you were offended.

X,

Yes the Pakistani side oftebn defies logic but when analyzing the game we can only go by logic and cannot account for -in pre calculations of what light happen-a blinder by someguy. We can only take the reality at hand, apply the variables (pitch, weather, form, ect) and then come to a few possible outcomes.

India still infected with NZ virus

I do not see any hopes for this team…

Indians crash to stunning 32-run defeat

February 06, 2003 21:32 IST

In a disastrous result just five days ahead of their first World Cup match, India suffered a shock 32-run defeat to Kwa-Zulu Natal in their second and final warm-up match in Durban on Thursday.

The ghosts of the New Zealand tour came to haunt the Indians once again as their celebrated batting line-up could muster just 158 before being shot out in 38.2 overs by a mediocre bowling attack.

The local team had earlier scored 190 for nine in their stipulated 50 overs after being put in to bat.

Skipper Sourav Ganguly (6), Sachin Tendulkar (9), Dinesh Mongia (0), Mohammad Kaif (2) and Sanjay Bangar (1) together could account for just 18 runs as the bulk of the scoring was done by the tailenders.

Virender Sehwag was the only batsman who was able to keep his reputation intact, top-scoring with 40 runs.

Ajit Agarkar (26), Harbhajan Singh (25), Parthiv Patel (15) and Anil Kumble (15) saved India some blushes, as at seven down for 88 in the 19th over, the team was in real danger of being shot out within the three-figure mark.

Ironically, it was an Indian-origin bowler, Yadeen Singh, who wrecked the Indian innings, claiming the prized wickets of Ganguly, Tendulkar and Sehwag. He returned figures of 3 for 38 from eight overs.

Re: India still infected with NZ virus

Neither do I.Will be surprised if they go to super six…

:teary1:

the day Pakistan chases a score of over 200 and wins is the day that none of us will ever see

they can never chase

younis and afridi may have made 40 odd but its useless if it doesent help the team win a game...pakistans batting is as pathetic and brittle as ever

Your battng crumbles under pressure-this is why we are not a top team, you need strength in both chasing and defending-as you have 50/50 shot at doing either.

They cant play under pressure, and some of them just cant play!

Our bowling can win games when the chips are down, we need only to get these stupid fools who are labelled batsmen to find out what it is there supposed to be good at!

I think Taufeeq should be dropped for the opening match. He hasn't performed well in any match and I think for the time being Afridi and Saeed should open the batting. Afridi played alright today and also bowled well. If he can give this kind of an all round performence in every match...he deserves to stay in the team.

Afridi didnt play well, he was lucky, dropped when he was 2 and then again when he was 25. Don't think the Australians will do that.

We need Saeed and Elahi to open the innings against Australia. Would'nt want to see Afrisi up in the order on Tuesday. McGrath's gonna send him back in the very first over. Its good to see that Younis Khan is in good form. Inzi and Youhanna are talented enough to produce the goods when required, irrespectible of the opponents.

So if we play good....we could give these Australians a fight.

The sad fact is that none of the openers look convincing. Taufeeq is more suited to tests, Elahi isn't that good, Afridi is hit & hope and Saeed is past his best and in dubious form.

Remember the days of Aamir Sohail and Anwar at his peak? Now THAT was an opening pair to chill the bones of the opposition.

Younis Khan still impressive...mashALLAH

Exactly.......his bowling also counts especially against australia...so u can't completely drop him...no matter it was his luck or whatever...still better than Elahi n Taufeeq they are not ODI players...
