all i know is that its painful!!! :crying:

it wasn’t as painful when i got it done from someone on my nikah but when i did it myself it was extremely painful although the results were definitely worth it. :smiley:

and yes i used sally hansens hot wax.

i recently bought Persian Wax...its good...coudl be warm or cold..i got it from Shoppers Drug Mart...even has the strips which can be used again....

cold wax never ever worked for me - too messy and painful.

hot wax is the way to go and yeah Sally Hansen is the way to go. Just wish it wasn't so damn painful!

Regular drug store. I tried persian wax and I just did not like it. This body sugaring works well with my skin.

Girls, the key is to pull your skin very tight before ripping the fabric off. Also, apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth and pull the fabric off in the opposite direciton. If you don’t do this, you might take some skin off along with the hair. :clown:

I use the Veet wax where you fill the bottle with hot water, insert the plastic wax container in it and roll it on your skin. It looks like a bigger deoderant bottle and it comes with strips. I find it really good, not as messy as the other stuff I have used.

I also find cold wax strips work real well for upper lip etc. They are not messy at all plus so easy to use.

Make sure the wax is hot. Once it cools down, chances are it will stick when you tear the fabric off, taking some skin with it. If not some skin, it sure will be painful. :clown:

Some parts of the body are super sensitive, like the middle of the armpit. The top part is fine, the bottom part is fine, but where the actual crease is, it is extra sensitive. Be careful there when applying wax. Hmm, that is all I can think of for now.

underarm waxing can hurt like heck if not done right but the results are soooooo worth it!!! And Sajal, from my own personal experience its not hard at all. A bit awkward sometimes but not hard.

once u get used to it..it doesnt hurt so much. it still killsssss to wax my legs. but underarms is ok. doesnt hurt at all now.

thres this thing i use now instead of waxing my arms n legs…silk epil. it’s a lil machine that pulls out ur hair. (little tweazers) its painful on the legs…but better than waxing. n it works just as well. hair doesnt grow back for weeks.

Yeah girls in my family have those - they're called epilators or something like that...I had that done once on my arm, and I thought it was so darn painful! I never did it again.

I make my own wax. Works great. The silk epil machine sucks, gave me ingrowns!! I was sooo pissed.

Sajal, it is very easy to wax ur own underarms. Just one strip and a week or two worth of results.

PCG- my cuzn told me i should try it...so i tried it n it hurt a lot the first time..i had to swear. but its ok now

I'm interested in this whole underarm waxing bit. I shave, and I've been doing it for years - so has anyone tried to wax any area that has been shaven (and therefore the hair is more course)?

wax ur underarms...it's really good. painful only the first couple times. if u cant do it urself. have ur sis or cuzn do it. i used to shave my underarms too. but i wax now. try it...u'll like not having hair for at least a week or 2.

^ true, another advantage of waxing underarms is ur skin doesnt get dark, or black in some cases (in case u use the cream) n razor just ruins the skin. i've been waxing for ever now, i dont have to wax atleast 3 weeks now.
i use veet wax strips, its really good for my skin.

Bee Jamalo aunty (suroor) is right, the underarm skin doesn't get dark with waxing as it does with shaving.

But once its already dark due to shaving, will the color lighten if you switch over to waxing?
