Wax

What brand do you recommend?

Which do you like better: hot or cold?

What are the tricks to minimize the pain?

Re: Wax

why don't use a trimmer for ur whiskers?

Re: Wax

:-| Why don't you leave the thread?

Re: Wax

The best one I have used is Chamomile Body Sugar by Parissa.

Lussi, share your waxing tips, not trimming tips.

Re: Wax

I like cold wax. You can put ice over the surface to numb it, then after drying the skin quickly, apply the wax while you're still numb. Or you could pull your skin tightly as you rip the cloth off.

Re: Wax

i have never waxed..though one time i thought abt waxing my back and butt...but u know..a man aint a man without his hair..

Re: Wax

Ditto. Keep telling yourself that the results are worth the pain.

Re: Wax

hot wax...I use lavender and vitamins spa wax by sally hansen..its reallyyyyyyy good

Re: Wax

Girls,
I am just here for silly banter, and not to disparage or villify anyone.

This thread reminds me of a quote by Seinfeld
"women are indeed weird creatures; they go through such inhumanely grotesque ritual of waxing their legs to impress a man, but are scared of spiders"

Carry on.

Re: Wax

Waxing gives you some return on your investment. What does a spider give you?

Re: Wax

My favortie is Sally hansen. It's the best and cheap.

Re: Wax

I used to use Alexandria Body Sugaring. You have to heat it up in the microwave. It worked really good. Just hold skin taught when ripping the gauze off.

I've also tried cold wax called Nad's. Didn't really like it too much. It's supposed to spread with the heat of your body but somehow that didn't work too well for me. It was just sticky and messy and didn't pull as much out as sugaring.

To minimize pain hold skin taught , even slap your legs before you wax them to numb them. You'll get used to it as you do it more often. Quickly rip off the strip and it's just a quick pain. Apply a soothing lotion afterwards.

Re: Wax

why dont yall shave too ? saves money and time. :hehe:

p/s: is waxing arm pit n pubirty any possible? hell ! i hate shaving every other god darn week .. dang it !

Re: Wax

Waxing is much smoother and it lasts longer..like 4-6 weeks. I've had laser hair removal done so I really don't have to do much of anything now.

Re: Wax

Oh that is awfully painful!!! Was it the new cold laser technology?

Re: Wax

Laser is like hot rubber bands snapping on your skin at lightening speed. Would you rather have wax?

Re: Wax

I would rather be a gorilla.

Re: Wax

Nope, smooth as a baby's butt. Waxing with sugaring is the way to go.

Re: Wax

I remembered another thing Seinfeld said, can’t remember exact quote but something about how men always require women to be hair free…we make them shave, pluck, wax, tweeze…all nice and smooth and then when we go out we dress them up like a bear in fur!!

Waxing is too time consuming and expensive…and i cud never do it myself (have tried it in the salon though). I just shave, sometimes i regret i even started to but once u start u can’t really stop.

Re: Wax

I have used sally hansen in the past and it worked fine. But belle and Mehnaz, where do you find this Parissa stuff at?
