Waterrrrrrrr!!!

OK so we all know that drinking 8-10 glasses of water is beneficial for health.

How many of you do? How you keep track?

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

for me its simple i drink one glass after i wake up , one after lunch , 3 during workout or sometimes more n one after dinner

i never counted lol

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

I barely drink water in a day :bummer:

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

^ same here n its so bad :( seriously! i think i have like only 3-4 glasses that too mostly when i m working out but i think i shud be taking atleast 10 cuz i workout n all.

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

1-2 glasses here :(

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

I try to drink a lot but it varies...

If Im super busy I will forget to eat and drink altogether...really bad.

Typically at least 6 glasses make it into my daily diet.

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

the 8 glasses of water great for skin etc. is a myth.

drink for your thirst, and you are doing fine.

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

ME :) i drink at least 10-12 glasses a day :) i love Water...ppl call me waterholic ;)

I dont think its a myth. Some people dont get thirsty as much, nevertheless their body needs more water than what they are drinking

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

countless studies have been done on this. it is a fad.

Instead of recommending how much extra water a person should drink to maintain health, the panel simply concluded that “the vast majority of healthy people adequately meet their daily hydration needs by letting thirst be their guide.”

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

I drink 2 liter bottle a day.

Dude no question about what you are saying but when they say vast majority of healthy people, they are talking about those who are active and work out daily. I am guessing they are drinking minimum of 6-7 glasses. What would you say to a person like me who spends 10 hours sitting on a chair in front of the computer and eating naan pakoray for lunch. Should not I put an extra effort to add more water to my diet even if I am not feeling thirsty?

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

nopes, TLK. because you haven't even lost any fluids to sweat. you only need to make up for regular urine loss. (and they don't mean people who work out when they mean healthy adults, just normal people without chronic health conditions)

thirst is triggered by reduced blood volume. if your blood volume dips even 2%, you will feel thirsty (unless you have a rare condition).

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

I want to agree with you but the difference I see in my skin after paying attention to my water intake makes me think differently.

It seems like there is a correlation.

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

placebo effect. that is well documented too.

all that happens when you drink up excess water is raise your bp a bit, and overwork your kidneys to quickly flush all that unnecessary water out asap. it does not stay in your system and plump up anything beyond normal hydration levels.
[Might drinking a lot of water make us think we feel better, look better, and function better? Could there be a placebo effect to those eight daily glasses?

“I’m certain there is,” Goldfarb says. “The placebo effect is very strong.”

And if you’re still convinced lots of water does your body good? No problem. “People say they feel stronger and healthier if they drink more water,” he says. “That’s fine. If they enjoy that benefit, so be it. [But] those who don’t feel that way shouldn’t feel obligated to drink the eight glasses.”](http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=88353)

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

So how much should everyone drink? Well everyone's different. I think you should let your thirst guide you...also, opt for water, not carbonated drinks/concentrated fruit juices to quench your thirst. I think i drink close enough to 1 1/2 litres a day.

It is advised that you should increase your fluid intake when undertaking strenuous activity, long-haul flights or during hot weather. But don't forget, drinking too much water can cause damage; if your kidneys can't excrete enough water, it can result in water intoxication.

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

I can only drink water if im eating curry. Or if its diluted.
I'l probly have 2 glasses a day. 3 Maximum.
When i do drink 8 glasses or more, Im running back and forward to the toilet, Which gets annoying.

That's not what I pack for you :ASA:

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

But drinking lots of water helps in so many ways: flushing out toxins, improving circulation, reducing hunger…or were they telling lies :naak:???

Re: Waterrrrrrrr!!!

once dr said to me its myth and wrong to have 8 to 10 glass of water…
4 to 5 glasses are fine for normal human body…kidney stones patients need 8/10 glass of water :bummer:
