Waterbirth

Why? O Why?

Re: Waterbirth

I have the same question.

Re: Waterbirth

I'd love to have a waterbirth at home..

Re: Waterbirth

me too...

Re: Waterbirth

I heard its easier. No? okay.

Re: Waterbirth

I saw a documentary in college on it. Man that was horrible, i have no idea how a women can go through child birth which actually torn her apart. I was shocked for next few weeks.

But i heard from my professor at that time, in UK it’s getting pretty much common to have water birth & you can ask at the hospital. It has something to do with gravity, research said women feel less pain because she is standing and gravity helps her to push child out.. Wallah o Alam …

the whole birth system is crazy, wasn’t that cool in childhood when we just know the child comes from the sky :chai: ..

Watch The backup plan movie,.. they have scene of water birth.. or if you have some balls.. try youtube, they have full water birth uncut videos.. horrible .. touba touba..

Re: Waterbirth

Niksik, begum says they are nonsense and can potentially be more complicated than good ol' fashioned births. Begum says it's these new aged hippies that think water births are cool.

Re: Waterbirth

aahmed...thanks for sharing views from an expert.

And that is what I think as well. Imagine your baby plopping inside water. OMG..

Standing in water that long can make you all wrinkly and tired...no? Why all these foolish innovations?

Re: Waterbirth

what scares me is the water that will go inside body of baby …what if something happens to the baby  it’s way too risky

Re: Waterbirth

niksik... these sorta things are always seemed as idiotic in the US and Canada whereas in europe its as normal as jam with cheese.

women here swear by it.. my own danish friends have had waterbirths and they LOVED it. i didnt go for it cuz i wanted to walk around for my labour... but there are many many satisfied women that are all praises for the waterbirth routine.

for my 2nd.. its definately gonna be an option!

diamond: they dont let the baby swim around in the water for hours.. they pull it out when it comes out... your baby is swimming in liquid when its in your belly and well accustomed to swimming around in liquid without taking anything in.... thats why the sooner you start your baby in swimming classes, the easier it will be for them to learn how to swim, UNDERWATER. done it.. know it to be true...

Re: Waterbirth

I agree with khawteen, its very normal here and its suppose to be better than normal birth in terms of pain.

Re: Waterbirth

I wanted one, but couldn't because I had to be induced!
Apparently it's a great source of pain relief??

Re: Waterbirth

ya... its meant to alleviate *the heavy *feeling taht wears a pregnant woman down even more so during labour... the lack of gravitational pull in water sooths the mother... if you pay for it, you can give birth in a jacuzzi ... a friend was saying its the best feeling in the world for constant pressure to hit all teh areas you feel sore at in labour.

,

Re: Waterbirth

I agree very painful to watch. kya karain allah ke kaam main kis ka dakhal hai. isi liye maa ko itna buland darja hasil hai. and some of us take her for granted. so sad.

Re: Waterbirth

This..

This sounds even better..

Re: Waterbirth

I think someone on GS had a water birth. I hope she'll share her experience in this thread.

Re: Waterbirth

waterbirths are an option in canada for sure- i think a few of the hospitals have the facilities. i've also heard that the feeling of weightlessness in the water helps to alleviate the pain, and its less shocking for the baby because they go from water to water, so to speak. babies are natural swimmers and initially, their noses are plugged up so they wouldn't be breathing in any water. plus they pull the baby, and you, out of the water pretty quickly too, from what i've heard.
its definitely something i'm considering but not having given birth before, i dont know if i'm brave enough to accept the no epidural option right off the bat.

Re: Waterbirth

you're usually sitting in the tub, not standing... and you only go in when you're in full on active labour and dilated to a certain level, i believe. they don't put you in when you first start contractions!
i think a lot of people would think being strapped to a monitor and forced to lay on your back while in labour is the foolish way to go about things because its not natural at all. naturally, i think the instinct is to keep moving through labour and squatting or giving birth on all fours, isn't it?
i'll have more insight in a few months iA! stay tuned ;)

Re: Waterbirth

OK SGC, :D
