I think that's one of the bigger reasons as well. Also for females, believe it or not. Most girls I know or have met - they're scared silly of marriage. Too many horror stories. There's just no guarantee that you're going to find a good partner. And then, most girls who want to make something of themselves, they're afraid that their partner will block them from doing things they want.
So I don't think men are the only ones who find it a hassle actually. Isn't it natural to be scared of something new?
