i also remember that match........u c, those r the matches which never let us move on from 2 ws..... remember that ball by waqar to latham in 2nd innings.....real reverse swing... the ball swung so late and boom, he was clean bold in a second..............i still remeber that ball..

this magic used to happen many times on a regular basis.... how lucky we were... look at india......poor indians never found even one single bowler even close to our GREAT WS in last 50 yeras....i feel so sorry for them...

I wanna say something that no one has brought up so far. for the past few days people have been bad mouthing PCB over "disrespecting" wasim. Michael jordan wasn't offered a job as bulls head coach after his retirement, i guess that makes the city of chicago and bulls organization ungrateful bitch. dan marino, troy aikman, steve young, mark mcgwire, charles barkey and countless others did not hang around for coaching their old team and they weren't even asked to. i guess it makes all these organization ungrateful. since when does a great fast bowler automatically get a job coaching the team. is he really entitled to the job. don't get me wrong, i would love it if wasim came back to coach the team, but he should not "expect" PCB to fall to his feet as soon as he retired. we are pakistanis, we produce fast bowlers without any coaching help, maybe indoos need to fall at his feet because lets face it, they have never produced any "fast" bowlers, ( no srinath doesn't count). I URGE ALL THE PAKISTANIS IN THIS FORUM TO THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING BEFORE GETTING ALL EMOTIONAL.

i think u made valid points but lets do some analysis of this whole mess and lets see why are indians making so much fuss about it

India is 7 times larger than pakistan and since last 50 yrs, they have not produced even a single world class fast bowler.... i mean thinak abt it....it is a big deal...and yes, i am making this statement with full authority....betwee 1947-1977, india never had any body bowling even medium fast...u guys wont believe but it is a fact that some time gavaskar and amarnath used to open the bowling in 70s to rubb off the shine of the new ball before 4 great magicians ( i hope we all know those 4 great indian spinners, parsana, bedi, venkat and shekhar) could be introduced. Then came left handed karsan ghawaree into the picture who was a decent bowler but again he was only medium fast and finished his career with little above 100 wickets in ealry 80s.Kapil Dev was big egoisitic boost for indian nation but we all know that wut was his reputation among imran, lillie, thompson, marshall, holding and many more. he had good nice control over the ball and great out swing ball but he was only a medium pacer....and then after kapil..... nothing...now on the other hand, we had fazal, khan mohammad, imran and sarfraz nawa but really it was waqar and wasim that took out fast bowling attack to new heights....we became center of attention in whole cricketing world...and then we kept producing one after other.... so u can imagine indians feelings... now they r tryin to ridicule us by sayin that ur legend wasim wants to coach young indians...yes, if wasim coaches india, it will be an insult for uss.... i had already asked indians in another thread that would tendulkar ever coach paki team on regular basis.... never ever.... how wud indians feel abt it that ther nation legend is coaching pakis... come on indians.... be honest abt it...

but my only concern is that why wasim always becomes center of such issues....god has given him so much izzat....

yeah Poor Rod LAtham didnt know what hit him :hehe: One more occassoin when WAqar bowled Brain Young in A tied game and poor Brian Young fell over playing that yorker.

anyways back to the topic warna mod se daant paray gee

Conclusion Wasim is not coaching indians but he got back into PCB with a bang. It also shows how desprately indians are looking for a pace bowler. good luck.

i guess the feared indian attack will have to find another bowling coach. something tells me if wasim and waqar bowled for their team, they'd find a way to become mediocre. maybe they should grow moustaches like kapil and srinath, you can't be good unless you have a moustache.

You forgot Merv Hughes...:-)

:k:

So, of course the whole coaching thing was a rumour started by Wasim because he is just dying to coach the ultra-fast and mega-talented Indian bowlers. Indians never wanted him to be there, and it was Wasim who really wanted to move from Lahore to Mumbai. Talk about being full of yourself.

“Feelers” indeed.

Ganguly renews Wasim interest

India captain Sourav Ganguly has reiterated he would like Wasim Akram to join the squad as bowling coach. Ganguly believes his bowlers would benefit from the depth of experience the former Pakistan captain has.

Last week the Board of Cricket Control in India denied it had approached Wasim to employ him for the Australia tour. Ganguly’s comments are bound to wind up arch-rivals Pakistan, who believe Wasim should coach their squad ahead of India’s.

Ganguly added: “There are a lot of sentiments attached to Wasim, it’s a bit of a sensitive issue. But we would love to have him in the nets to look after the boys.”

Left-armer Wasim, 37, retired from cricket in May with 414 Test wickets and a world record tally of 502 wickets in limited-overs cricket.

In October, the Indian government ended a three-year boycott of bilateral cricket matches against Pakistan, paving the way for the rivals to schedule a Test series in Pakistan in March next year.

Goodone Sam bhai. :hehe:

:rotfl: Man these Indians never quit,
Yeah I can see Wasim is the one who desperately wants to go to India…

Legal case brought against former captain

Akram denies claims he coached India

Wasim Akram has denied claims that he coached the Indian side, or had plans to do so, and insisted that an action against him accusing him of doing so was born out of malice and was little more than an attempt to gain cheap publicity by the petitioner.

Akram was appearing in front of a civil court in Lahore in a bid to have the petition, which seeks to prevent him coaching any Indian players, dismissed. “I have no such intention to coach the Indian cricket team,” he told the judge. “Nor I have been approached by the Indian cricket board.” Akram explained that the petition had caused him “mental torture” as well as damaging his reputation.

“If anyone seeks my advice I am duty-bound to help him.” Akram continued. "Indian bowlers Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan used to call me and take advice, there is nothing wrong with that because **when I was young I took advice from Kapil Dev and the late West Indian Malcolm Marshall. **

"I am amazed at the* narrow-mindedness of the people**, they make mountains out of a molehill," he added. "I am going to sue them instead. " *

Akram also faces another appearance in court, again because of a petition filed by a member of the public, following his appearance in a liquor advertisement in India two years ago.

The judge adjourned the current case until December 8.

I dont know what else will convince our friends from across the border that Akram was not even approached for the the job.

A common civilized citizen of Pakistan holds no grudges against Wasim and doesn't mind if he gives friendly advice to young non Pakistani bowlers.
But I can tell you one thing, Ganguly and his men are desperate for a good bowling coach, and he was definitly approached by the BCCI, now Indians deny it because they don't want to be rejected.
And Wasim is covering the truth for BCCI, as we all know, he is very much involved with the Indian media these days.

Nobody is misjudging Wasim's credibility.
He is more then welcome to coach anyone according to me, but he has been in Indian ads and involved with Star Sports cricket, their main headquarter is in India and just imagine if tommorrow if Wasim does admit the offer from BCCI, he will receive a backlash from the Indian media and public which will cause him to lose his job.
