Wasim to become bowling coach for India?

just read this on jang that indian board is thinking over the decision to make wasim their bowling coach

[thumb=D]sp2.JPG[/thumb]

its all about money baybee :halo:

but if pcb dont offer him coaching obviously he will coach other countries

Considering that India now has three left hand pacers in Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan, Wasim will certainly be of immense help.

(I dont see anything wrong with Gavaskar being Pakistan's coach either :))

PCB shud offer him ASAP! otherwise they loose a star!

wasim knws they r not gonna pay him much:p...

well he himself offered coaching to Nehra and Zaheer long time back, may be before WC2003...
If our PCB cant take advantage of the TWO w's, then there is no harm for Wasim or Waqar in coaching others. after all we do hire foreigner coaches naa, Geof BoyCott and PyBuss are examples..
So there shouldnt be any critiscm in this regard...

already nehra and khan have learnt a lot from wasim....
but india will definitely be a tough team if wasim can work some magic with their bowlers....

I may be some what “controversial” here,…& so would say:
“Ghuddar-e-watan”..
Guess somebody had to say that…That’s what this post was meant to be…wasn’t it? :bukbuk2:

How come no other paper has this news item? Even The News didn't carry it in today's papers and The news is mostly the English translation of Jang news. So I will wait until Dawn or some more reliable paper reports this.

thats the point, pcb shud take advantage of wasim instead they r busy solving selection problems created by aamir sohail :bailan:

:nono1:
well wasim wants to use his talent n if the indian team will benefit so wat? the pcb dont want to hire him , so he’ll obviously go for other countries

i hope this news is just a rumour :frowning: i really wanted wasim to be pakistan’s bowling coach, but it seems that Mr. Zia has too many problems on his mind to even think abt offering the job to wasim :mad3:

I seriously doubt this....

Indian Cricket Board does'nt hire bowling or batting coach. Besides they have Dennis Lillee, working with them at the MRF Pace Academy. All of their young fast bowlers have to go through the training at the Academy before they can make it to the national team. If Dennis Lillee cant set the bowlers on track no body can.

Btw...Indian Cricket team does not need any bowling or batting coaches. There team and their cricket board is in a much better shape that ours. They believe in the fact that players must be sorted out, there weaknesses must be removed before they make it to the national team.

agreed:k:

I did hear the BCCI was thinking of hiring a bowling coach for India.

If this news is true it's fantastic. Indo/Pak ties could improve. No kiddin, cricket is numero uno in India and if Wasim helps India win a major series (like Down Under) or the WC every Indian will be willing to give up Kashmir as a good will gesture. Haha, ok so that's a slight exaggeration, but I do think Wasim will be very good in communicating with the bowlers in their own language - he would understand their emotional problems unlike a foreign coach. Plus in my book he is a very very decent bloke, and we'd be lucky to get him at any price.

then they'll get another excuse to avoid playing Pakistan ;)

Well, PCB should start paying should start paying its cricketer little more so that its players stop looking for jobs across the border. ;)

LM - India ki baat chhoRo, just pray that NZ doesn't cancel their pakistan trip this time :)

well PCB has already decided what steps to take....they would not tour NZ in that case....a suggestion try cricinfo.com instead of rediff.com to keep urself updated.

Indians desperatly need someone, as their bowling is third class.
On the other hand Pakistan never did or never will need a bowling coach, our bowlers are naturally talented, they don't need some bowler to show them how to bowl.

Having said that, Pakistan doesn't need Gavaskar as they already have Miandad, and he has done wonders to Pakistani batting.
