Cheeeeeeeeta. Well said!

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

iss mulk mei jo cricket ka hal ho raha ha mujhe dar ha hockey vala scene na ho jai, kehta sahee ha akram.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Well said. It is a real shame how we treat our heroes.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

He was offered a contract by the PCB, he said he is looking for a break and rejected it. Two weeks later he signed up for an IPL team.

He says he is willing to coach for 15 days, I am sorry, 15 days? That's not even enough to identity, or groom a talent. He was a given a massive let-off after the Qayyum report. I don't agree with the abuse he gets, uncalled for and is unacceptable. But I perfectly understand the criticism he gets.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

can you give me the link of the news where it says he was given a contract and Akram rejected

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Seems he rejected an offer to train a bowling camp, so I stand corrected. Though I will still say the same thing, IPL which has banned Pakistani players and we have one of our own legends training a team there I can understand the criticism.

Abuse is unacceptable but the criticism is valid. Why does he never apply to any coaching positions whenever they are open? We owe a lot to him, but so does he. No other country would have let any player escaped with what he did, read the Qayyum Report.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Social Media :smack2: There is no need to think about what social media says. Haters are every where either they hate Afridi or Misbah. These people have no knowledge of Cricket even they have never touched the bat but giving -ve comments is their duty.
He should avoid these people and no need to get involve with them. You have done a lot for Pakistan, so, no one take this credit from you.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Shak has most balanced reaction on this issue.....he is spot on

why do we need to take an absolute position on every issue....either a hero or a zero is our favorite policy

Has Pakistan ever produced a better bowler than wasim akram....i dont think so. He is one of the best left hand fast bowler ever in whole cricket history. If you deny his cricket talent you are morally and intellectually bankrupt. No second opinion

but did he use his talent negatively harming Pakistan?....we all know he did. sad but true. He was properly implicated by a judicial investigation and was so lucky to escape a ban because judje sahib was his biggest fan. Imagine the credibility of evidence against akram that his biggest fan Justic Qayyum had no choice but to implicate him, fine him heavily and recommend he never be allowed to captain Pakistan again. Plus had Ata ur Rehman not reversed his testimony in favor of wasim, he would have banned for sure.

Is this our mistake akram cheated us, cheated pakistan and cheated the whole cricket fraternity? this is something he has to pay price for. He betrayed millions of his fans and i am one of them. I still love him for what he did for pakistan and for his talent but part of my heart is deeply hurt because of his illegal activities. But yes we need to be civilized and dont need to call him names on social media. everyone makes mistalkes, he is a national hero and shd be dealt accordingly.

Now speaking of his job with Indian IPL and what not..akram is technically 100% correct. he can work wherever he wants to. But there is also an element of practicality whenever it comes to India Pak. Just imagine iif Pakistan is running an IPL version and Indian players are banned from participating for many many years and tendulkar is coaching a Pakistani IPL team? Just imagine what would have Indians done to tendulkar.....so yes there will be some criticism on akram on IPL issue (although there is no need for it either as he can work wherever he wants to and if Pakistan has no frickin cricket going on what can akram do).

Last, waqar younis has same stature like akram when it comes to fast bowling.....can anyone doubt it? some rate him even better. last i know, waqar has always applied for pakistani coach position...no one came to his home either ...why cant akram apply? now if he does not want to coah, perfectly fine. Coaching is not for everyone but he shd stop saying that no one contacted me. Bhai ego choro and apply for the job like waqar has done 3 times now.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

God blimey, what has he done to his face? That's one serious example of a bad face lift.

Anyway, I just came here to say this, but I reckon I must make an on topic post as well.

So I would say that not all great players make excellent or even average coaches, and no position should be handed over to them in a platter just because they were superstars of yesterday.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

First of all Wasim is not a qualified coach. He can teach some tips and tricks of fast bowling and help bowlers with their runup, line and length. etc. What he will tell the batsmen? the spinners? the wicket-keeper? Even with KKR, he is their bowling consultant not their full coach. Why he will apply for a job for which he is not capable enough.

Waqar Younis on the other hand has taken coaching more seriously. He recently applied for the national coach job of Australian cricket team but after some interviews he was not selected.

I appreciate Wasim for not taking up a role that he cannot fulfill.

And about PCB, they have given category B contract to currently the only proper test match batsman in the country, i.e. Younis Khan. This shows how much they care for the cricket in this country. We only hear that Wasim was offered coaching job but we don't hear about the terms and conditions of that offer.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Are modern day cricket coaches all trained in coaching? Some r not ex Test players. The may have had coaching training. But others - Greg Chappel or Bob Woolmer come to mind - do they get coaching jobs based on their experience as a Test cricketers. Or had they done training in coaching

Re applying for the job what's to stop the cricket authority of any country to approach the cricketer with credentials

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

I had the exact same reaction as soon as I saw his video image....

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Burnol for haters of Wasim Akram

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

How is this even an argument? :konfused:

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Fair points.

However considering Pak-Indo rivalry and considering how Pakistani players are treated by IPL he will get criticism. Valid or not is another topic.

As for YK, he is past it in ODIS and is only good enough in Tests but even he is aging now.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

For brining the Qayyum report and other non related stuff into this thread

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

They were related to Wasim's ''I have done bla bla for Pakistan'', well so has Pakistan for him. And it wasn't non-related at all.

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Lulz

Pakistanis can never respect their Legends NEVER

Re: Wasim Akram answers his haters

Atleast have a back-up argument in your reply dude. Pakistanis will respect ''legends'' who have given their all selflessly for their nation. Noone disputes Imran's commitment or Miandad's as cricketers. If they go and whine how 'noone respects us and we've done so much'' then its understandable. But when someone like Wasim, who works in the IPL knowing full well how Pakistanis are treated by that league and knowing that working with our arch-rivals will have him getting more attention, he can't and shouldn't complain as our country has done a lot for him too. Otherwise his name would have forever been tainted.

Instead of ''lulz'' please check up on your history.
