We will go easy and assume it's an effective tax rate of 35%. Oh, dont forget health insurance, which can run you about $200 a month even after the employer matches it dollar for dollar.

Total of $2,130 X 12 = $25,560; assuming an effective tax rate of 35%, your gross salary would have to be = $40,000, so, yes, anything more than that is gravy.
