in islam there is no restriction in asking from prophets and awliya or even in your religion of isa a.s there is no restriction in seeking help from jesus. but we must know that jesus or prophet muhammed s.a.w or any other giver gives us from the almighty.
if you are learning islam from some teacher then first you must be sure that he himself is following the right path because there are many sects emerging in islam which totally self satidfyingly off the tract led by the beloved s.a.w. so first make sure that your teacher understands islam or is he just a scholar who has studied to recite quranic and hadees verses.
