Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Whoa…
missed the whole thing…
Shaba Pakistan!!!
:jhanda:

Some concerns with middle order crumbling in the last two matches… no fifties from middle order…

Content to see the top order working together and peforming it to decent standards. The equation is usually, more often than not, the other way around. Mailk’s, Yousaf’s and Inzamam’s would be carrying the major burden. The opening combination is an okay change for starters, and could develop for a permanent period of time, when (and a big if) they sustain green/moving tracks.

well played pak... congrats everyone!

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

I can't believe that Asif's over intimidation and offensive action will not be reported.
If Mahela lets is go and does not file a complaint, then Asif will be lucky but Talat Ali should have a word with Asif.
I think the VC role is going to his head..

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

^ plus this is not the first time he has done something like this. I remember him intimidating Tresco after dismissing him on two occasions in England last year. He sure has a problem with temper. I have rarely seen Akhtar misbehave like Asif.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

well played "new team" under "new captain" but same old story... new talent = new sightseeing tourist.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

I don't think its that big of a deal...if they start filing complints about these little things...then i dont think Andre Nel can play a single game for South Africa.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

I just noticed, Pakistan team has deprived the audience 8-10 overs-duration of entertainment in both games, whats up with that? when chasing they finished the game in 42 overs and when restricting the opponent they did it within 40 overs....

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

It is a big deal if he does it consistently and unprovoked. Granted it's good for the bowlers to be aggressive and a little intimidation is handy, but he's been overdoing it, and that too to the nicer batsmen. It's international level cricket and the opposing players have earned their places at that level. There's no reason to unnecessary disrespect them. Getting someone out after they have scored runs against you is a tie, not a win. Someone needs to speak with him.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Pakistan back on track.

Many many congratulations :D

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Are u kidding me? What is this, a Sunday evening picnic or an international One day game? Asif was perfectly within his rights...he was pumped up...Jayawardene could also have walked off instead he chose to lock eyes with Asif - its a competitive game and its good to see aggressiveness and some fire and passion in the Pakistanis.

Pakistanis have been sissys ever since Inzamam Ul Haq took over, when someone sledges them, they run to Daddy Umpire - who rarely does anything to stop the sleding from taking place, because its part of the game at all levels now.

Im glad to see Asif showing some aggression...he's showing he cares about playing for the country and he plays with a passion.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Quiet simply put :k:. As long as he doesnt get his A$$ in trouble.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

I would love to see him do it to the Aussies / West Indian batsman and South African like Smith and see what happens to him.

He will get taste of his own medicine no doubt.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Yes comprehensive win. Pakistan well on its way towards winning the the next ICC Trophy and World cup..........

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

This is one of the problems of us Pakistanis. Aik choti si series jeet kai aik dam khawaab daikhne lag jaate hain. Pehley consistency dikhaao, phir khawaab daikho.

Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20

Do you honestly think I really meant Pakistan on it's way towards winning the next ICC triphy and World cup?

Welcome back Team Pakistan

It might be the enthusiasm of youth. It might be a flash in the pan. It might be a false dawn. But when Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, and Mohammad Asif gathered to discuss how to bowl and set a field to Mahela Jayawardene it struck me that this was a sight Pakistan cricket has been missing. The team huddle is all well and good but the team think-tank is a far more valuable concept.
Australia, as usual, are the premier exponents of the think-tank approach. Ricky Ponting has grown into a formidable leader but his lieutenants, Messrs Warne, Gilchrist, and Hussey–or anybody else with a bright idea for that matter–will not hesitate to have a word of wisdom with their captain or the bowler. Gilchrist, for example, will often hatch a plan in the middle of an over. Even if it is a chat about the next episode of Neighbours it puts the batsman on edge.
Under Inzamam-ul Haq the Pakistan think-tank had ebbed away. All thinking resided within his tank-like frame. The huddle, an opportunity to impart instructions and urge common purpose, reigned supreme. But I’m refreshed by the return of the think-tank. It shows that Shoaib Malik is willing to debate and listen. He must have the final say, of course, but no individual has a monopoly on the best ideas.
Winning two matches against a jaded and under-strength Sri Lankan team does not make you the best in the world. It does not mean that every move that Captain Malik made was the correct one. It does not mean that Sergeant-Major Afridi will rescue Pakistan in every match with bat or ball–and today there was genuine pressure from Sri Lanka when Afridi bowled his team back into a dominant position.
Yet there is more to team spirit than the embrace of a huddle. There is a degree of sharing of ideas and strategy, as well as some disagreement, that unites players in their quest. It has to be done in the middle of a match not confined to the middle of the captain’s brain.

No body is stopping you to support Aussies bro. Unfortunately for us Pakistnai's, we do not have any other choice. The only thing we CAN do is cherish these little wins to the full extent.
