Start: 16:00 Local Time, 12:00 GMT and 13:00 in UK (day-light saving), 17:00 PST, Eastern time: your guess is as good as mine Weather: It should be 3 degrees (37 C) cooler than Friday (40 degrees) http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0245 Head to head: Pakistan leads Sri Lanka 66-38 in 108 international matches b/w the two sides (1 tied, 3 no-result)
Expect SLA to come back hard at us. Early days still but Butt-Imran Nazir combo looking good, they should be given an extended run. If and when Actor and Younis Khan both return, Sami and Yasir Hameed should make way for them in ODIs.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
Salman and Imran are a very good combo - Salman was visibly nervous in his comeback game yet still played 10 times better than the club-cricketer known as Hafeez. Butt will continue to get better, and he's the kind of player who can bat deep into the innings, whereas Nazir is more than capable of providing lightening starts. Only change Id make is drop Hameed, push Malik up to number 3, and bring in Fawad Alam at 5. For the final game, Asif or Gul can be rested and Najaf Shah can get his debut too...but Fawad Alam definately should be in for tommorows game.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
I like Hameed.
Maybe we should drop Razzak to bring in Fawad Alam. Razzak has been consistently underperforming for a couple of years now. And maybe drop Sami for Najaf Shah... just to check (although I thought Sami bowled superbly in his second spell)
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
Salman was visibly nervous in his comeback game .
maybe because of the number of SL players standing in the slip. His contribution was negligent. Hope he can do something in the next two matches to justify his inclusion.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
While there can be no excuse for losing against Ireland, it’s clear that missing four frontline players (Actor, Asif, Afridi and Razzaq) severely upset the balance of the team and affected us as much as Inzi’s poor leadership. Take out 4 integral players from any team and I am sure they would struggle to win most of their games. Yousuf also re-empasized the same point with Fakhar although he was then quite quick to dismiss it as an excuse for bad show against Ireland. This plus the fact that the openers failed to give us decent starts cost us at the World Cup. I know fielding is another weak area of Pakistan but then it was never spectacular even when Imran Khan was the captain of the team or when the two W’s were almost single-handedly winning us games in the late 80s to mid-90s.
In nutshell Inzi can’t be solely blamed for the WC debacle. A captain is only as good as the team he’s leading :k:

It’s 12:00 GMT and 7:00 EST here in USA.
Not an Imran Nazir fan at all and frankly speaking was disappointed to see Fawad Alam not in the team on Friday, however they should stick with Nazir and Butt combination. If Hameed fails again, then they should give chance to Fawad Alam.

I agree almost completely!
Only one I am not 100% sure of is Malik at 3.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
In the future its pretty much given that Malik will bat No.5 (Inzi's place) and Younis will take his usual place (if his nakhra is over) and we will rarely see a new talent.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Abu Dhabi last Friday. It would have been a very entertaining experience to watch the match in the stadium. And the other 2 ODIs are taking place on weekdays (Yes, Sunday is a working day here in the UAE), so I won't be able to attend those either.
Re: Warid cricket Series, Abu Dhabi - Pak v SLA 2nd ODI - Sunday May 20
probably but no different from "catch me in the slips" Butt.
I think you're talking about Farhat, ehsan. Butt has a dodgy technique outside off as well...but most young left handers from Pakistan have this issue when they begin their careers.....Saeed had it, so did Sohail. Butt's isent as prominent as Farhat, mainly because Salman is a far better player.
