War on petty issues

I’m sure, almost all of us heard the line ‘Ladna buri baat hai’ from our elders. Children fight on petty issues and then forget the tussles very soon.

If we look at history, people fought for very petty issues. Those wars used to continue from generation to generation for centuries.

I remember that Taimur’s biography which states that he attacked Iran because he was suggested lemon from Iran by his tabeeb (physician) and when he sent his ambassador to Shah e Iran, he refused to gave lemons for Taimoor.

Do you remember any war which was fought for petty issues like this?

Re: War on petty issues

although this sounds like a stupid reason, but remember that back in those days, it was a vulture culture. Offense used to be the best defense. If you dont attack a country first, eventually they will attack you for no reason.

Re: War on petty issues

Exactly. Taimoor was on mission to conquer the world and Iran was not far away from him. If he got lemons without any humiliation, he would have made another silly reason to attack Iran. :)

Re: War on petty issues

Don’t know if it counts but what about the football war? The cause of the war go deeper but the straw that broke the camel’s back was qualifying round for 1970 FIFA world cup between Honduras and El-Salvador.

And then there is the Emu War

Re: War on petty issues

do wars over women count as war on petty issues?

Re: War on petty issues

They still thrive in abundance.

Re: War on petty issues

No :snooty:

Re: War on petty issues

Women are not petty. fighting for them make fighters petty :)

BTW, which particular woman you have in mind that caused war?

Re: War on petty issues

:cb: So animals won the game.

BTW, what was the reason for Mahabharata?

Re: War on petty issues

Do you think that the wars now are any different?

Re: War on petty issues

Not so much. Lemon is replaced by oil ;)

Re: War on petty issues

Even though whatever happened with Draupadi, war was avoided till the last instant when Bhagwan went on with Peace messanger and the deal coundn’t be broken, storyline is too complex to put one particular instance responsible for war.

But our countries are bit evolved we fought for territory:D

Re: War on petty issues

Great improvement :bummer:

BTW, I heard that Ranjeet Singh attacked a village of Pathans for getting a horse

Re: War on petty issues

lol oil, gas pipelines, sea routes etc etc

Re: War on petty issues

Our fight is similar to Mahabharat two sets of cousin fighting over ownership of territory.

Ranjeet singh and Horse, home he didn’t make Ghoda minar:D, now this reminds me Fallahudding again:D
